Lindsay Barker and Jeremy Hotovy were married June 26, 2010, at St. Maryâ€™s Cathedral in Grand Island. The Father Joseph Kadaprayil and Father Dennis Hotovy officiated.
Parents of the couple are Robert and Rhonda Barker of Loup City, and Greg and Linda Hotovy of Seward.
Wedding music was provided by Kathy Runyan of Seward, vocalist, and Elaine Bishop, organist.
Since its beginning in 1961, the Nebraska One Box Pheasant Hunt has grown to be an annual event of worldwide interest. Founded by the late Tom Varney, Jr., the hunt was patterned after the One Shot Antelope Hunt held in Wyoming.
Kurt A. Gilmore, 41, of Miller, died Nov. 6, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born Jan. 4, 1969, in Callaway, to George and Dolores (Mason) Gilmore. He grew up and received his education in Merna.
He was married to Renee Lyon June 14, 2003, in Miller. They made their home in Miller. He was self employed and worked as a landscaper.
He lived in various places including Lincoln and Hastings where he worked for Earl May.
He loved the time spent with his family and gardening.
Terry Roy McCandless, 53, of Broken Bow, passed away Nov. 1, 2010, at Evanston, Wyo.
Terry was born June 6, 1957, in Callaway to Eldon and Jeannette (Landrey) McCandless. He attended grade school in Arnold and graduated from Anselmo-Merna High School in 1976. Terry lived most of his live in Custer County.
Terry married Brenda Sillivan July 22, 1978, in Sargent. They had two daughters, Kyra and Ginger.
Terry married Barbara Morgan June 29, 2002, in Broken Bow.
Bennie Crouch age 60, of Ansley died Oct. 25, 2010, at Grand Island.
Bennie Orel Crouch was born July 26, 1950, at Broken Bow, the first of four sons born to Harry and Maxine (Coffman) Crouch of Ansley. Bennie grew up in Ansley and attended Ansley Public Schools. He was working at SunHeat in Grand Island, at the time of his passing.
Margaret M.Casteel, age 91, of Halsey, died Nov. 8, 2010, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Herb Gerhard.
Wynona P. Rodocker, age 87, of Broken Bow, formerly of Halsey, Nov. 7, 2010, at Heritage Hall in Broken Bow.
Wynona Rodocker was born May 14, 1923, South of Dunning, to Bert and Flossie (Cooper) Dent. She attended school and graduated from Halsey High School May 14, 1941.
January 24, 1942, Wynona married Floyd (Bud) Rodocker. Floyd served in the military until November 1945 while Wynona remained a homemaker who anxiously awaited Floydâ€™s letters.
Floyd Laverne Wahlgren, age 68 of Gothenburg, passed away Nov. 6, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Floyd was born Oct. 9, 1942, to Kenneth and Nola (McPheeters) Wahlgren.
He attended country school and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1961. Immediately following graduation, Floyd enlisted in the National Guard. He returned to the farm in 1962 to work for his father.
December 1, 1963, Floyd married his high school sweetheart, Marcy Uhlig. December 1, 2010, they would have been married for 47 years.
Rosemarie Oiler Coe of Parkersburg, W.V., sister of Sue Dowse of Comstock, died in her sleep Nov. 2. Funeral services were Nov. 5 at Leavitt Funeral Home with interment in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Rosemarie was born April 7, 1946. She was a registered nurse still working at the time of her unexpected death.
In 1996 she joined sisters, cousins, and a friend for a trip to Halsey and a tour of Nebraska which none of the group will ever forget.
Louise D. Wolford age 90 of Broken Bow died Nov. 7, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Village in Grand Island.
Louise Darlene Wolford was born April 23, 1920, at Westerville, to Alpheus and Edna (Fiscus) Casteel. Louise grew up on the family farm and attended Cherryville school. After her education she worked on the family farm.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Wolford. They made their home near Westerville then moved to the West End area of Loup County. They later moved to Victoria Springs area and then purchased the ranch near Milburn.
