It was a short docket of criminal cases in Custer County District Court Thursday, Dec. 15, with two of the three cases being either continued or dismissed.
The one case that was completed as scheduled was the sentencing of Jade T. Gracey, 34. Gracey was arraigned April 21, 2011, on a charge of felony driving under revocation, from a Feb. 4, 2011 incident. His license had previously been revoked for a period of 15 years, and Gracey was six years into that revocation period at the time of his arrest.
Nellie Smith, 96, of Sargent died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Sargent. The Father Jim Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Sargent. Visitations will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent, with a 7 p.m. wake service at the church.
