Ansley volleyball and track coach Pat Hoblyn was named Custer County Chief Coach of the Decade, and awarded a plaque Tuesday night at the Broken Bow Indian High School gym. The Best of the Decade team, coach, and male and female athletes were voted on by you, the public. Hoblyn is in her 36th year of teaching and coaching at AHS. She was awarded a plaque of recognition by Custer County Chief Sports Editor Tim Brown.

BROKEN BOW -- While the basketball season ended for eight area teams, three teams advance to the subdistrict finals, just two wins away from the State Tournament.
The Ansley Lady Warriors advanced to the D2-8 subdistrict final with a 59-39 win over Arcadia Tuesday night. The Lady Warriors will play North Loup-Scotia who was a 49-40 winner over Sargent.
The Mullen Lady Broncos will play Cody-Kilgore Thursday night for the D2-12 subdistrict title. The Lady Broncos were 61-23 winners over South Platte while Cody-Kilgore defeated Hyannis 42-17.
