The 1st Annual Andrew Claymon Memorial Fishing Tournament is scheduled to hit the waters at Merritt Reservoir June 11.
The tournament is in memory of Andrew, who died at the age of 16 after an 18-month battle with cancer. One of his dreams in life was to attend UNL and fish as a member of the Husker Bass Anglers team. Andrew started fishing when he was two years old and became an accomplished and passionate fisherman.
One of Andrew’s wishes to keep his memory alive after he died was for his family to organize and host an annual adult/youth fishing tournament at Merrit Reservoir.
MADISON/ATKINSON -- Weekend rains produced some muddy conditions at high school rodeos in Madison and Atkinson.

Event champions form Madison included Comstock’s Tyler Viers in team roping and Thedford’s Chauncy Hesseltine in bull riding.
