All streaks must end sometime. After starting the season 10-0, Ansley-Litchfield suffered their first loss of the season Tuesday night at the hands of Twin Loup.
This was the third time these two teams had met this season and it went to a third and deciding set once again.
The Wolves pulled out the 3-2 victory, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20 at the North Loup Scotia-Elba Triangular.
Twin Loup also topped ENLS 2-1, winning 20-25, 27-25, 25-12.
Alex Hart came alive for Twin Loup in this match, recording 20 kills along with 12 by Becca Clark and seven from Madison Kozeal.
July 28, 2012, William Trumbull from Callaway, employed at BD in Broken Bow, and Christie Schweitzer from Broken Bow, employed at Backbone of Healthcare, were united in marriage on the Schweitzer Family Farm just north of Broken Bow.
The couple was married on a homemade island and the wedding was set to an island theme!
Dacia Dawn McIntyre and Kyle Oakeson were united in marriage June 1, 2012, in a 5:30 p.m. ceremony at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev.
The bride is the daughter of Jim McIntyre of Edgerton, Mo., and Rhonda McIntyre of Hastings. She is the granddaughter of Walter (Bill) and Ramona Guggenmos of Brewster.
Dacia is employed as a family nurse practitioner with Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.
The groom is the son of Dave and Julie Oakeson of Doniphan, and the grandson of Dan Sutton of Shelton.
Kyle is an engineer at Flowserve in Hastings.

MERNA - - The Republican National Convention was filled with rally speeches from high profile people, and days filled with events designed to fire up the party members in attendance. One of those party members, serving as a Nebraska delegate to the convention, was Craig Safranek of Merna.
Craig was only in junior high in 1984, when a teacher got him interested in the presidential election. He remembers watching Ronald Reagan, and being fascinated by the fact that one man could have such a profound affect on the nation and the world.
With much regret, the Broken Bow Board of Education accepted the resignation of High School/Middle School Principal Ken Kujath Monday evening, effective July 31, 2013.
Kujath will finish the year at Broken Bow, and says he only submitted his resignation this early to give the board ample time to secure a replacement.
He will have served the Broken Bow school district for seven years, and will be taking advantage of the teacher retirement plan.
â€śI really love what I do. I am doing this now for my familyâ€™s long-term security,â€ť Kujath explained.
LINCOLN -- Broken Bow received top honors Friday from the Nebraska Diplomats, the non-governmental arm of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, as the Governor Dave Heineman and Nebraska Diplomat President Jeffrey Scherer presented Broken Bow Mayor Cecil Burt with one of two Community of the Year awards. The community of Wisner was also so honored.
â€śIt is a tremendous honor,â€ť reflected Custer Economic Development President Melissa Garcia. â€śIt is an amazing validation of what the people of Broken Bow have worked so hard on for the past several years.â€ť
The Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene of a grass fire Sept. 15, northwest of Broken Bow.
According to Andy Holland of the BBVFD, the department was called at 11:45 a.m. Saturday morning, and responded with three grass rigs, the pumper truck, an ambulance and a tanker, along with 16 fire fighters and three EMTs. Broken Bow also called Callaway, Merna and Anselmo on mutual aid.
Landin Morgan Deakin, age 16 of Broken Bow, was called back to his heavenly home Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, following his valiant fight with illness for the past several months. Landin loved much.
Laddie Kmoch, age 61 of Broken Bow, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at the Callaway District Hospital.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with the Rev. Ralph McKay officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family or the donor's choice.
