2013 NSAA Championships Results for Sargent/Burwell
C120 - Justin Miller (28-10)
Champ. Round 1 - Jon Marvin (O`Neill) 35-12 won by decision over Justin Miller (Sargent/Burwell) 28-10 (Dec 7-1); Cons. Round 1 - Michael Varela (David City) 25-20 won by decision over Justin Miller (Sargent/Burwell) 28-10 (Dec 6-1)
C132 - Evan Gideon (37-6)
Sometime between 10:30 P.M. and 10:45 P.M., Thursday, Feb. 14, the Frontier Inn located in Halsey sustained damage from gunshots. At the time the shots were fired the building was occupied but no one was injured. The Nebraska State Patrol is seeking any information from the public that might lead to the arrest of the person or persons involved in this incident. If you have any information regarding this matter please contact the Nebraska State Patrol office in North Platte at (308) 535-8047.
It was a rough morning for the area Class D wrestlers. Of the 10 wrestlers who entered into the consolation round , only one survived the morning to move to the next step at the State Wrestling finals from the Century Link Center in Omaha. All were hard fought rounds. Each of these athletes gave their all resulting in a number of heartbreakers. Competition at this level is tough.

Custer County Veterans Service Officer Linda Bomberger formally announced Tuesday at the Custer County Board of Supervisors that she is fixing to retire - for a second time - from a job she loves.
Her first career was the Navy, her second career has been focused on those who served.
Bomberger was one of those who served. She spent 20 years in her first career retiring in 1995 as Master Chief Yeoman.
She is retiring, effective June 21, from her job as a county official.

Effective immediately, Energy Pioneer Solutions, Inc. no longer has a working agreement with the city of Broken Bow.
Clients who already have had work finished, and are being billed through the Utilities Office, will continue that method of payment through the end of their contract.
April Christensen, Community Coordinator for Pioneer Solutions addressed the Broken Bow City Council during its regular meeting Tuesday to ask for a one-year extension on their contract.

Sandhills/Thedford picked the perfect time to get their only win of the season against Mullen- in the subdistrict final. The Knights earned the 64-52 victory, due in large part to a 22-229 performance from the line. Mullen, by comparison shot 4-11 from the charity stripe.
Kelsey Higgins and Kaitlin Marten lead the way with 19 and 18 points respectively. Avery Taylor had 12 to go with six from Sarah Miles. Shaina Simonson had five while Taylor Marten had four.

Dakota Divine (285) was the lone wrestler for Sargent/Burwell to advance to the semi finals of the state tournament Friday. Divine got his victories with a 53-second and 1:58 second pin. He will take on another area wrestler in the semi finals in the form of Clayton Lange from Ord who came in with a record of 24-1.
