A 51-year-old Ansley man has been sentenced to federal prison for possession of child pornography, as the result of a joint investigation involving the Custer County Sheriffâ€™s Office, Nebraska State Patrol and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force.
Anthony Lewandowski was arrested June 21, 2012, after a warrant was issued following an investigation in which a computer that Lewandowski possessed was found to have child pornography on it. The computer, along with other electronic devices, was seized. He was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography.
Margaret Bradley, age 66 of Brewster, went home into the welcoming arms of Jesus Friday, March 15, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, after a recent battle with multiple myeloma.
Funeral Services were March 19, at St. Josephâ€™s Catholic Church in Broken Bow, with Fr. Jim Hunt officiating. She was laid to rest at the Brewster Cemetery.
Lucinda Mari Burnett, 47, of Yates Center, Kan., passed away March 8, 2013, as the result of a car accident.
Lucinda was born July 17, 1965, the daughter of Irl and Pauline (Kruger) George. She graduated from Shawnee Heights High School and received an associate degree from Allen County Community College.
Dwain Verne Myers, one of three children of Loren Verne and Marjory Ruth (Clay) Myers, was born Feb. 27, 1939, in Sidney. He attended school in Potter, the West Coast, and Broken Bow, before graduating from Broken Bow High School in 1956.
After high school Dwain attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for a semester. He then transferred to Kearney State, where he earned his bachelors degree in education. While in school in Kearney Dwain joined the Nebraska National Guard. Later in life Dwain would obtain his masters in education and specialist in education at Kearney.
Andrew Peter Crawford Sr. of Minden, formerly of Axtell and Ansley, passed away March 6, 2013, at the Kearney County Health Systems in Minden. Funeral services were Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Mason City, with the Rev. John Lewis officiating.
Burial was in the Mason City Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of arrangements.
Jay. T. Evans, 87, formerly of Berwyn, died Feb. 28, 2013, at the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth. Memorial services were Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth. Roby Funeral Home of Plattsmouth was in charge of arrangements.
Jay Theodore Evans was born May 18, 1925, at Berwyn, to Otto Evans and Ruby (Knapp) Evans. He had one sister, Cleo (Evans) Allen, who preceded him in death.
He attended grade school and high school at Berwyn, and graduated from Berwyn High School. Jay spent most of his life farming and ranching on his property south of Berwyn.
Elvira K. Bolli, 98, of Arcadia, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Valley View Living Center in Ord.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the United Methodist Church in Arcadia with the Rev. Dr. Jeff D. Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Lee Park Cemetery near Arcadia. Visitation will be one hour before time of service at the church. Peters Funeral Home of Loup City is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bolli was born July 14, 1914, at Taylor, the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Beals) Johnson.
