Broken Bow washes out Valentine in torrential downpour

Broken Bow topped Valentine 20-0 Friday night to move to 2-2 on the season while Valentine falls to 1-3. The Indians got touchdown runs from Grayson Minnick (41 yards), Zac Jones (one yard) and Jeremy Christner (five yards). The Indians defense kept the Badgers out of the end zone after turnovers twice facing a short field. Broken Bow turned the ball over four times, but forced two interceptions of their own.

Aniah Preston is like most 12-year-old boys. He loves sports - especially football - likes hanging out with his friends, and isn’t overly fond of school. But unlike the other boys in his 6th grade class, Aniah’s days also consist of lots of medications, routine blood pressure checks, and frequent trips to a myriad of doctors, in an attempt to manage the rare disease he was born with.
It’s called Kearnes-Sayre Syndrome, and according to Aniah’s mom, Amy Kulhanek, less that 250 people worldwide have been diagnosed with the disorder.

Secret to rodeo success, lots of hard work

Jayde Atkins, Broken Bow, is getting ready to compete this weekend at the 2013 Ak-Sar-Ben’s Heartland Invitational Scholarship High School Rodeo Champions Challenge in Omaha.

She is one of Nebraska’s best in the High School Rodeo arena. There is scholarship money on the line … but even better, there are bragging rights. And Jayde this past year has already earned a few of her own, including All Around Cowgirl this past weekend in Broken Bow.

The 2014 National High School Rodeo is at Rock Springs, Wyo. and runs from July 13-19. As of now...
