Norman D. âPeteâ Peterson, 80, of Kearney died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City.
Dylan Gene Woodward, the son of Jeffery Craig Woodward and Denise Renae (Baxa) Woodward, was born Dec. 30, 1992, at Belleville, Kan., and passed away in Hays, Kan., April 24, 2014, at the age of 21 years, 3 months, and 24 days.
Dylan grew up and attended schools in Belleville, graduating from Republic County High School in 2011. He then attended Missouri Auction School and Cloud County Community College. He currently was attending Ft. Hays State University, majoring in Agronomy.
Stella M. Andersen, 88, of Ord, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord.
Mrs. Andersenâs wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Glenda Pearson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Osco Cemetery near Norman, Nebr. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Ord Flag Fund, Ord Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department or the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Raoul A. Johnson, age 70 of Arnold, died April 28, 2014, at his home. Funeral services were Friday, May 2, at the United Methodist Church in Arnold with the Rev. Andrew Black officiating. Interment was in the Arnold Community Cemetery, with Arnold Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Arnold Community Foundation and the Arnold School Foundation.
Joyce Trobough, 72, passed away April 28, 2014, at her home after a day of gardening, baking and caring for her granddaughter.
Joyce was born March 21, 1942, in Loup County to George and Luella (Sinner) Moninger. She and her six siblings were raised in the Sandhills where her family farmed. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1959.
After high school, Joyce moved to Omaha and began working for Mutual of Omaha. In 1961, she married James Trobough at St. Bernard Catholic Church. They went on to raise their six daughters in St. Bernard Parish.
DeEtta Florene (Catlett) Newman went home to the Lord May 1, 2014.
She was the second child of George and Vera (Matthews) Catlett, born in Ansley, Dec. 14, 1922. She graduated from Central City High School.
July 12, 1942, she married Paul Newman in Kahoka, Mo. To this union four children were born: Jannet, Pauletta, Rodney and Lori.
Clair Victor Burnett, age 82, of rural Anselmo, died May 1, 2014 at Jennie Melham Memorial Hospital, Broken Bow after an unfortunate accident while he was caring for his cattle. He was born Aug. 30, 1931 near Berwyn, the youngest of six children to Douglas and Maymae (Pracht) Burnett.
Vivian Lois Hickey, daughter of Beulah and Gillis Herrin, pased away peacefully April 14, 2014, at the age of 76, after a long battle with Alzheimerâs disease.
Vivian was born July 3, 1937, in Somerset, Kent., and was a longtime resident of Boulder, Colo. She was a wife, mother and grandmother who was proud to be a homemaker.
Vivian loved children, cats and books, and was a much-celebrated cook.
Vivian was preceded in death by her youngest son, Robert Gregory Michael.
Beatrice Cosner, age 91, of Broken Bow, passed away April 29, 2014, at the Golden LivingCenter of Broken Bow.
Beatrice was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Berwyn, to Lester and Kathryn (Pirnie) Wachter. She was raised on the farm and after high school she worked for the draft board during World War II and even had to draft her boyfriend.
Later, she married Harry Cosner May 19, 1946. They made their home in the Gates Community where they farmed for 30 years.
Elizabeth Brown, age 83 of Broken Bow formerly of Arcadia, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at the Jennie M. Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, with the Rev. Seth Bates officiating. Burial followed in the Arcadia Cemetery. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Arcadia Fire and Rescue Department.
