Vikki Janeal Dickinson, former Broken Bow resident, passed away in Lincoln, Nov. 1, 2014, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 8, 1951, in Omaha to Jess and NormaLee Hagadorn.
While attending high school in Broken Bow, Vikki was a cheerleader, was in the madrigal choir, and was assistant editor of the warrior yearbook. After graduation, she enjoyed participating in numerous activities including community theater.
Stanley R. Collins, 60, of Broken Bow, passed away Oct. 30, 2014, at the hospital in Broken Bow.
Stan was born May 12, 1954, to Elmer and Arlene Collins in Broken Bow.
He attended the Broken Bow Schools and graduated in 1972.
He began his professional career at the Ache and Pain Barber Shop as a shoe shine boy.
He started working at the Mid-Nebraska Individual Services in Broken Bow then moved to Burwell for several years where he continued working for Mid-Nebraska. He worked various other jobs in the area then at Mead
Lumber and at Thomas Livestock for many years.
Carl Linn, 75, of Shelbyville, Kent., died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 in Lincoln County, Kentucky.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Shelbyville, retired school teacher and coach having taught in Nebraska, Wyoming and New Mexico; member of the NEA; active in Civil Air Patrol. He has helped with Boy Scouts since he moved to Shelbyville. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nellie Linn; daughter, Amy Linn; infant brother, Ervil; and brother, Jerry.
Winifred Ann Johnson-Pandorf, age 92, of Arnold, died at the Callaway Good Life Center Oct. 28, 2014.
Winnie was born Oct. 6, 1922, in Finchville, to Robert and Frances (Miles) Shaw. She grew up in Arnold, and received her high school education at Arnold High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Education degree from Kearney State College.
Winifred was a riveter during the war years.
Glenn Kuhlman, 76, of Hillrose, Colo, died Oct. 26, 2014, in Brush, Colo.
Glenn was born May 17, 1938, in Gothenburg, to John â€śJackâ€ť and Lillian (Block) Kuhlman.
Glenn grew up on a farm and attended country school and later attended school in Gothenburg graduating from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1956.
Glenn was in the Air Force from 1957 - 1961 and served at the Castle Air Force Base and the Beal Air Force Base in California.
Glenn married Gail Fenton at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg and they had two sons - Kevin and Kip.
Virginia L. Jones, 81, of Ravenna, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center.
According to her wishes Virginia was cremated and a private family graveside service will be at a later date.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home and Cremation Services is serving the family.
Virginia was born July 11, 1933, at Springfield, to Lee Roy and Grace Mae (Lefler) Banks. She grew up and received her education in Springfield.
She was united in marriage to Melroy Jones in 1955.
Wilda Jackson, age 77 of Stuart, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at her home.
Funeral services were Saturday Nov. 1, 2014, at the United Methodist Church in Bassett, with the Rev. Rodney Heibrun officiating.
Burial was in the Bassett Cemetery.
Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Newport Community Fire Hall.
Wilda Jackson was born Nov. 4, 1936, at Brewster, to Gwynne and Gertrude (Ewing) Neubauer.
Wilda attended school in Brewster graduating in 1954.
Teddie Trotter 73, died Nov. 2, 2014, at home in Broken Bow with his family by his side.
He was born April 24, 1941, at Kimball, to Emery Trotter and Ina (Beards) Trotter.
August 17, 1963, he married Laverna Shears in Armour S.D. To this union three sons were born Travis, Max and Damon.
They made their home in Broken Bow, later moving to his Post Master job in Merriman and his Post Master job in Big Springs and back to Broken Bow.
Ted never knew a stranger and always struck up a conversation with anyone as well as having a smile and making people feel welcome.
Maxine L. Bednarski (Weldin) of Broken Bow, was born in Lincoln,
Jan. 29, 1925. Two days later she was adopted by Earl
and Irene Weldin, of Broken Bow, and was to be their only child.
Maxine, or â€śMickie,â€ť (what everyone called her), was raised in Broken Bow.
She was well respected for her beautiful coloratura soprano singing voice
and was a regular performer at local events. Her singing career took her to the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she performed
live on the radio at the age of 17. Always the adventurer, she got her pilotâ€™s license at the age of 19.
DeLilah Rose Zimmerman, age 81 of Broken Bow, died Saturday Nov. 1, 2014, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Tuesday Nov. 4, 2014, at the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow with Pastor David Hansen Officiating. Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of the arrangements.
