Tracy Keep and Jonathan Meyer were united in marriage Oct. 22, 2011, at Holcomb Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege.
Parents of the bride are Willie and Barb Keep of Elm Creek. She is the granddaughter of Shirley Scoville of Elwood, and Meredith Keep of Elm Creek.
The groom is the son of Gary and Stephanie Meyer of Broken Bow, and the grandson of Kenny and Carol Kroll of Steinauher.
The wedding was officiated by Mitch Ivey. Maid of honor was Kelsey Keep of Elm Creek. Flower girl was Arabella Bernache of Shelton, cousin of the groom.
Trisha Joy Hayen and Mark Edward Parker were married Nov. 11, 2011, at The Rushmore PLaza Holiday Inn in Rapid City, S.D. Trisha is the daughter of Brian and Lisha Hayen of Hill City, S.D. She is a 2004 graduate of Hill City, S.D. and is currently attending NAU in Rapid City, S.D. She is employed at Prairie Berry Winery in Hill City. Grandparents of the bride are Willis and Elaine Hayen of Rapid City.
LINCOLN - On the last day of the legislative session, state senators overrode two gubernatorial vetoes: expanding prenatal care and allowing municipalities to increase their sales tax. Â A veto relating to horse racing stood. Â Â
LB599 will provide prenatal medical assistance for women not covered under Medicaid, including illegal immigrants and women in prison. Â According to the billâ€™s fiscal note, 1,162 unborn babies will be covered annually. In a letter explaining his veto, Gov. Dave Heineman said he opposed the bill because it gave taxpayersâ€™ benefits to illegal immigrants.Â
ANSLEY - - The Ansley bar, located along Highway 2 directly across from the lake, is under new ownership and is undergoing a major face-lift.
Jerry Grosse-Rhode is originally from Omaha, but has experienced life in the Sandhills a few times in his life. He was a resident of Ord in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
He and his wife Janet have just moved back to Ansley in the past two years. Janet is native to the community and the couple moved back to be closer to their family.

Sandhills/Thedford senior Shelby Saner signed her letter of intent Wednesday for Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb. She will continue her basketball career with the Hawks as a freshman in the fall. Saner was selected as a 2nd team All-Stater in Class D1n the Omaha World Herald. She finished her career at Sandhills/Thedford as the 5th leading rebounder in the state for all classes.
Jeffrey S. Woods, of Broken Bow, was arraigned in Custer County District Court March 22 on two felonies. Count 1, use of a firearm to commit a felony, is a Class II felony and carries a possible penalty of 1-50 years in prison. Count 2, terroristic threats, is a Class IV felony and carries a possible penalty of 0-5 years in prison and/or $10,000 fine. If convicted on both counts they would be required to be served consecutively.
Woods plead not guilty to both charges and was scheduled for jury trial June 11.
Howard â€śLevernâ€ť Snider, 55, of Overton, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at his home in Overton, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Lexington with Pastor Rex Adams officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Purdum Cemetery at Purdum.

Funeral services for Bonnie Jean (Enterline) Neth, of rural Broken Bow, were Tuesday, April 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Broken Bow Evangelical Free Church. Bonnie passed away April 13, 2012, at Callaway District Hospital after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
Bonnie was born July 5, 1931, in Belmar, to Melvin Earl and Velva Ruth (Burnett) Enterline. The family moved to Hershey when Kingsley Dam was built. Bonnie graduated from Hershey High School.
Bonnie and Ivan Neth were united in marriage June 18, 1950, and have lived on Ryno Table for 61 years.
LITCHFIELD - - The Dale Zoerb family, of rural Litchfield, had just arrived home from church Sunday morning when a severe storm hit their farm. It was raining and hailing at the time, when all of a sudden the winds became so strong and loud that the family decided to head to the basement.
Patio furniture began to fly off the deck, being blown south of the house. "I looked out the window as Linda was heading to the basement, and I saw the machine shed heading north!" says Dale.
