William J. âBillâ Eastwood, 91, of Anselmo, died Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Tiffany Square Care Center. Mr. Eastwoodâs wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Bill was born May 17, 1924, at Stapleton. He was the son of William John and Ida Mae (Gorsuch) Eastwood.
Marie Kastens, age 87, of Merna, passed away Friday June 12, 2015, at Heritage Hall Care Center in Broken Bow.
Funeral Services were Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with Minister Kathy Salts and Millie Winkler officiating.
Burial will be in the Merna Cemetery.
Govier Brothers in Broken Bow was in charge of arrangements.
Alice Marie Hirsch was born Feb. 14, 1928, to Fred âFritzâ and Alice (Michele) Hirsch of rural Merna. Marie attended a rural country school and graduated from Merna High School in 1946.
Agnes Genevieve Finley, 93, of Kearney, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at CHI Good Samaritan.
Mass of Christian Burial was Friday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Fr. Art Faesser celebrated.
Burial was in Kearney City Cemetery.
According to her wishes Agnes was cremated.
OâBrien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home was serving the family.
Memorials are suggested to St. James Catholic Church.
Winona Faye Brummell, 90, of Casper, Wyo., died June 5, 2015, at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper. Winona was born April 17, 1925, in Loup City, to Lena (Vergin) and Charles M. Williams.
She married Bob Brummell in Reno, Nevada. He preceded her in death.
She later married Loyd Tanner.
Survivors include her husband; one sister, Evelyn Brush of Broken Bow; a sister-in-law, Bonita Williams of Bassett; nieces and nephews and their families; and her dog, Bella.
Rick L. Glendy, 56 of Loup City, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, in Loup City.Â
Funeral services were Friday, June 12, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with the Rev. Darrell Holzinger officiating. Cremation will follow the service.Â

Entries are now being taken for Miss Rodeo Cherry County. The contest this year will be held on August 5th and 6th. Contestants must be between the ages of 14-20 as of January 1, 2015 and will be competing for over a thousand dollars worth of prizes.
The Horsemanship Contest will be held on August 5 at 7 p.m. at the the fairgrounds. The modeling and speeches will be held on August 6 at 1:30 p.m. The topics of this year's speeches are: "Cherry County - Jewel Of The Sandhills" or "Legends of Rodeo". Speeches, modeling and horsemanship are open to the public.

The Custer County Historical Museum is hosting a pie and ice cream social Friday from 5-7 p.m. Come join them at the museum. There will be live music.
