A full docket of criminal cases came before District Judge Karin Noakes at the Custer County District Court Thursday, Sept. 20. One of those cases was the sentencing of Randy Martinez, who was found guilty of stabbing Geoffrey Eng in January of this year.
Eng was stabbed in the face and neck after becoming involved in a domestic dispute between Martinez and his girlfriend, and was later airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. As a result of the incident Martinez was charged with 2nd degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, both Class II felonies.

On Sept. 27, Gene Graves got to see his granddaughter, Taylor Duncan, play volleyball.
