Christmas is right around the corner, and Santa is shining up his sleigh. Thanks to all of you, Christmas will be a lighter, brighter for some little ones out there. The box at Prairie EyeCare is filling up and the children at St. Anselmâ€™s wanted their contributions for others.
Thanks need to go out this week to Destry Miller - he celebrated his 11th birthday party by asking his guests to bring a childâ€™s toy that was later donated to the Childrenâ€™s Christmas Fund.
The Broken Bow School Board met Monday evening, with the two items on the agenda generating the most discussion both being more civic related than education related.
Kevin Lindly appeared before the board on behalf of the Nebraska Free Masons. The Masons had previously requested permission to host a cornerstone ceremony at the new North Park school addition. At that time the board elected to further research the idea before making a final decision.
LITCHFIELD -- There was a sense of frustration in their voices as they explained what happened ... here was a community that gathered an estimated $7,000, through donations from businesses and individuals, to do the necessary repairs on the school's football field. The volunteers were organized, a day was set and the work accomplished ... only to have vandals, in one night, take out part of their sweat and hard-earned accomplishments, for no apparent purpose.
