Halsey – Most of the roads and trails at Bessey Ranger District near Halsey will re-open next week in time to welcome Labor Day weekend visitors. The roads and trails have been closed since early July due to hazard tree dangers and damage to the trails that occurred during the Camp 5 Fire earlier this summer.
In March 2011, there were 16.4 million full-time equivalent employees working in state and local governments in the U.S., down 1.4 percent from 2010. According to estimates released today by the U.S. Census Bureau, the majority of these employees (8.9 million) worked in education, followed by those working in hospitals (964,381), police protection (923,951) and corrections (717,940).
The Broken Bow Girl Scouts will be having a Girl Scout sign up at Tomahawk Park Monday, August 27th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. for any girls interested in signing up for Girl Scouts. They will meet some of the existing girl scouts and join them for ice cream. If they would like to join GS but are unable to be at the sign up event please call Kay Richardson, Girl Scout Membership Specialist at 800-879-6123.
The Broken Bow Girl Scouts are pictured at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo, where they spent the night under the aquarium Aug. 18. A total of 43 girl Scouts and leaders attended the event.
