LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A Nebraskan who helps coordinate services for students, teachers and school districts was chosen Thursday as the state's new education commissioner.
Dr. Moon, Broken Bow's former Superintendent, was a finalist for the position.
The State Board of Education announced it had unanimously chosen Matthew Blomstedt, of Central City, for the job out of four finalists. Blomstedt will replace Roger Breed, who retired earlier this year.
Santa visited the Broken Bow Library this past week much to the delight of the children, young and 'not so' young. We published several of the photos in this week's Chief, but the colors were so vibrant we wanted to share the photos in color as well.
To view the photos go to the 'View/Order Photos' tag toward the top of the page just under the menu bar, and then click on the Santa at the Library folder - enjoy. Santa was jolly and the children perfectly delightful.
Beginning Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 through Jan. 1, 2014, the Broken Bow Police Department will be involved in the statewide “You Drink & Drive, You Lose” Selective DUI Enforcement.
This is a coordinated effort of law enforcement agencies to decrease the number of impaired drivers in our communities. This selective enforcement is funded through a Nebraska Office of Highway Safety grant.
