Red Cross offers free training classes

June 21, 2013

The American Red Cross will be hosting a free training for those interested in learning about how they can help the Red Cross respond to disasters. Trained volunteers are needed to help respond in a variety of ways after a disaster has affected a community. The Disaster Services: An Overview course introduces these different activities to interested community members and prospective volunteers. 


BREAKING NEWS: Fire at Johnson Lake

Fire crews were called to an early morning fire this morning at Johnson Lake's Kirby Point. It is being reported that at least three cabins on the property were involved in the blaze, with one cabin being burned to the ground.

According to reports by NTV News, as of 8:30 this morning the fire was out but crews remained on scene monitoring the situation. There have been no official reports of any injuries at this time. We will continue to monitor this story and bring you updates as they become available.
