Pastor answers call to Broken Bow

For Dawn Black, going into ministry was a leap of faith she says she just knew she was supposed to take. Uncertain where her journey would take her, she could have never predicted leaving her life-long Kentucky home to relocate to the middle of Nebraska. But that is exactly where God has brought her.

First session of the 103rd Legislature ends

LINCOLN -- The first session of the 103rd Legislature came to a close Wednesday after Gov. Dave Heineman addressed the body, praising senators for their work and calling for “a giant step forward” in tax reform next session.
Despite issuing more than 20 line-item vetoes on the two-year budget, about half of which were overturned, Heineman thanked the Appropriations Committee for its efforts, saying he agreed with members on the most important issues, like state aid to schools and rebuilding the cash fund.
“Most importantly, we balanced the budget without raising taxes,” he said.

Hard work of local PTSA pays big dividends

Forty thousand dollars. $40,000! After several months of hard work and dedication, the Broken Bow PTSA made their donation to Little Feet, Big Dreams. This $40,000 donation sends Phase 2 fundraising over the top of its goal for two sets of playground equipment at North Park Elementary - a set for the primary students and a set for the older students.
