James R. Franssen, age 71 of Broken Bow, died Sunday Jan. 29, 2012 at Bryan LGH in Lincoln.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 8 a.m. to service time at St. Josephs Catholic Church. A memorial will be designated by the family at a later date.
James R. Franssen was born March 18, 1940, in Andale, Kan., to Herman Franssen and Marcella Goetz-Franssen. He moved with his family to Callaway in 1947.
Brenda Jean Minton, 59, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at her home in Merna. Brenda was born Dec. 27, 1952, at the Callaway Hospital to Joseph âJoe" and Betty Jean (Ault) Lindner of Oconto, and was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oconto.
At the age of four, Brenda left Nebraska and moved with her family to Utah and then Mesa Ariz. Brenda married Charles "Chuck" Minton May 8, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nev. To this union two sons were born; Martin Leonard and Michael Lee.
ln the mid-90s, Chuck and Brenda moved back to Nebraska into Brendaâs Grandma Lindner's house in Merna.
Max W. Chrisp, 85, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Jan. 25, at his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1927, at Central City, to Elmer J. Chrisp and Ernestine Pearsons Chrisp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, Max William Chrisp Jr. and Terry Lee Chrisp.
Anna âAnnieâ Marie Schneider, of Grand Island, died at home Jan 18, 2012, after a brave fight against cancer.
Memorial services were Jan. 28 at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Burial will be at a later date.
Annie was born May 24, 1956, in Callaway, to Joseph and Rose (Hladky) Rempe of Oconto. She grew up and attended school in Oconto, graduating in 1974 as salutatorian.
She participated in 4-H and was Girlâs State representative for Oconto in 1973.
She attended Mt. Marty College in Yankton, S.D. for one year, and attended Kearney State College for one and a half years.
