A visitation for Glen Willard Fletcher, 82, of Gainesville, Texas, is set for Friday, Sept. 14, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Interment will follow at the Merna Cemetery in Merna, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Lawrence Francis officiating..
Glen was born in Long Pine, Dec. 20, 1929, to Albert Barnes Fletcher and Grace Hollopeter Fletcher. He passed away Sept. 7, 2012, in Gainesville.
James D. Drake, 80, of Kearney, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at St. Luke's Good Samaritan Village. A graveside memorial service was Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Litchfield Cemetery with the Rev. Diana J. Fred was born July 15, 1923, at Eli, Nebr., to Marion and Letha (Tate) Hoagland. Diana attended school in Mullen, and college at Chadron State College where she received a teaching degree.
Diana was raised in Blanding, Utah until the age of 14, when she moved to Nebraska and lived with her Aunt Zetta Tate.
Diana taught in the Sandhills until she was united in marriage to Glenn J. Fred June 9, 1946. To this union two sons and one daughter were born. They resided in the Sandhills and ranched until 1949, when they moved to the K.C. Ranch in Somerford Valley.
Bill Bruce, age 83, of Broken Bow, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Berean Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Larry DeMoss officiating. Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery, with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made to your favorite charity.
Alice Yavaun Gunther, 81, passed away in her Denver home of more than 50 years, Aug. 20, 2012. Alice was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Oconto.
She married Bernard Gunther Oct. 11, 1948.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vere and Opal Preston; and brother, Bernard Preston.

Fred Werner, age 83, of Broken Bow, died August 14, 2012 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Anselmo with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Anselm's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Fred and Alice Werner family scholarship fund at the Custer County Foundation in Broken Bow or St. Anselm's Catholic Cemetery preservation fund. Christian Wake Service will be Friday at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Broken Bow

Stanley John Nordlund, age 85,of Loup City, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Baptist Church in Loup City, with the Rev. Del Unruh officiating. Burial will be in the Tallin Cemetery west of Callaway, Ne. at approximately 2 p.m. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 17, at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow 8 a.m to 8 p.m. with family present 5 to 8 p.m Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Loup City or the Homeward Trail of Mason City, Ne.
Althea Lawrence, age 90 of Broken Bow, formerly of Ansley, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with the Rev. Mary Jane Gockley officiating. Burial was in the Fort McPherson Cemetery.

Robert Eugene C. Abel was born the youngest of four children to Charles and Martha (Knadjl) Abel Feb. 16, 1940, on the family farm in Mason City. He passed from this life Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at his home in Talmo, Kan. He was 72 years of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Arlene Harnagel and Charlene Lymber.
August 13th
Ronald C. Dittmar, age 83 of Oconto, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at the Callaway Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 10, at the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo, south of Oconto, with the Rev. Victor Rasmussen officiating. Burial was in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of the arrangements. Memorials have been suggested to the First Lutheran Church Building Fund.
