Sydnee Faith Owens, 14 of Aurora, went to her eternal home Nov. 30, 2012, after a courageous 6 1/2-year battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life was Dec. 4 at the Monroe E-Free Church near Phillips. Family and friends were encouraged to wear pink in honor of Sydnee’s favorite color. Rev. Marshall Erickson officiated. Interment was at the Aurora Cemetery.
Katherine L. Drake, 74 of Kearney, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
A memorials service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at the O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with the Rev. Stan Murdoch officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Heartland Hematology and Oncology. Online condolences or personal reflections may be submitted at www.osrfh.com.
