Claude Wayne Allbright, 83, of Lexington, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013,
at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Claude was born June 28, 1930, near Anselmo, in the Keota Community, to Alpha Morgan and Violet May (Deal) Allbright. Keota is where Claude attended school for eight years. In 1943, the family moved to a place east of Broken Bow. Claude finished the 8th grade there at the Dutchman Valley School.
Paul Page was born to Raymond and Lucile (Campbell) Page July 14, 1937. He grew up in Central City, graduated from high school there, met his wife of 55 years there, and began their family there.
Ronda was born in Grand Island, Joyce in Central City, and after
they moved to Broken Bow, Paula was born. They moved because of Paul's job with Hansen's Appliance as
their appliance repair tech, which later became Staab's Appliance, and he continued working for Bob. During this time, he was a Broken Bow volunteer fireman answering "the call" for fires and emergencies without hesitation.
Charlene Marie Page was born Aug. 21, 1939, at Auburn, to Leo and Donna (Karr) Haith. Charleneâ€™s high school years were spent in Central City. She graduated in 1957, and went to work for the Lincoln Telephone Company in York. During the time Paul kept the highway busy between Central City and York and on June 6,1958, Charlene became Mrs. Paul Page.
Deb Thompson, age 55, of Broken Bow, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at her home near Broken Bow, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Debra June (Anderson) Thompson, most known as Debi or Deb, was born June 16, 1958, weighing in at 4 pounds, having to stay in the hospital until she weighed 5 pounds. Deb was born to Ival and Charlotte (Marshall) Anderson, having two older sisters, later having another sister join the family.
She went to Cumro Country School, later graduating from Ansley High School in 1976.
Martin Porter "Port" Chamberlin, 86, a resident of Christian Homes in Holdrege and formerly of Kearney, died Monday evening at the home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the First Church of God in Kearney with the Rev. Charlie Gable and the Rev. Phillip Chamberlin officiating. Interment with military rites will be conducted at the Kearney Cemetery by the Nebraska National Guard Honors Team in conjunction with the American Legion Post 52 and the VFW Post 759 of Kearney. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m.
Imogene Morrison, 101 of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Ansley, passed away July 29, 2013. She was born July 18, 1912, in Ansley.
She was valedictorian of her class at Ansley High School, and one of only a few female law graduates, and was admitted to the Nebraska Bar in 1935. She married Russell Morrison in 1937.
Immediate survivors include her son, Russell (Joann) of Hampton, Va.; daughter, Sharon Morrison Morrow (Chuck) of Las Vegas, Nev.; four granddaugthers; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Charlene Krause (Wayne) of Longview, Wash.
Jane E. Fieldgrove, 63, of Loup City died Thurs-day, Aug. 15, 2013 at Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Memorial Services were Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at the Congregational Church in Ravenna with the Rev. Doug DeNeui officiating. Burial was be in Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna was in charge of arrangements.
Jane Fieldgrove was born Jan. 19, 1950, in Hinsdale, Ill., to Edwin and Dorothea (Klinkman) Olson. She moved to Nebraska in April 1965, from Downers Grove, Ill. She graduated from Ravenna High School in 1969.
Ena Margaret (Call) Glass died July 24, 2013, at Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen.
She was born Oct. 9, 1918, at Merna, to Charles Jefferson Call and Dorothy Ann (Kaminska). Ena and her family loved on different farms in the Merna and Broken Bow area and she went to country schools.
Janine Kay Golden, 59 of Sugar Loaf, Calif., passed away Aug. 1, 2013, at her home.
She was the first child of Robert and Shirley Golden and born in Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., Jan. 20, 1954. She was baptized at the Berwyn Methodist Church.
She attended school in Broken Bow and Ogallala.
She married Carlos Echeverria Jan. 21, 1971. To this union two children were born; Michele (Dan) Myers and Cameron (Courtney) Echeverria.
Lila (Taylor) Jenkins Picton, age 72, of Ashland, formerly of Grand Island, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 after a battle with cancer at the Bryan LGH West Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with the Rev. Todd Karges officiating. Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been designated to the Lila Picton Memorial Fund.
