Bernard (Ben) Francis Winkenwerder, 82, went home to the Lord May 9, 2014, at the Golden LivingCenter in Broken Bow.
Raymond James Woracek of Sargent passed away May 6, 2014, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Services will be held in Sargent at the St. Maryâ€™s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Hunt officiating. Interment will be at the St. Maryâ€™s Catholic Cemetery.Funeral arrangements are being made by Rhoad Funeral Home 308-527-3625.
Raymond James Woracek was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Sargent, to James Woracek and Mary (Brim) Woracek. He attended grade school at the Round Valley School House and high school at Sargent Public High School.
(Grandma Max) Maxine Bosselman, 92 of Grand Island died peacefully with her loving family at her side Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Tiffany Square.
Services were Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Reverend Jack Gillam officiated. Burial was in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Mrs. Bosselman was born July 29, 1921, at Fairmont, the daughter of Dwight and Margaret (Ellis) Forbes.
Agnes Marie (Tully) Hempstead, age 84 of Anselmo died May 11, 2014, at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Funeral services are Friday, May 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Anselmâ€™s Catholic Church with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Visitation will be Today, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Govier Brothers Chapel. A Christian wake service will be today at 7 p.m. with family visitation from 5 - 7 p.m. at the St. Anselmâ€™s Catholic Church. Internment will be at Dale Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Anselmâ€™s Catholic Church or Anselmo Fire and Rescue.
Marvin â€śMertâ€ť Stivers, age 77, of Callaway, died May 8, 2014, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born Oct. 27, 1936, in Callaway, to Walter and Laura (Wilborn) Stivers.
Mert graduated from Callaway High School in 1955 where he was an All-State football player. After graduation, he returned to the family farm.
September 13, 1959, Mert married Beverly West in Oconto. The couple moved to the family place where they farmed for many years. Later in life, Mert worked for All Points Fertilizer, and then for Trotters for the past several years.
Beecher J Rhoades, 88, of Freemanâ€™s Creek Rd. passed away at 3:37 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston following a brief illness.
He was born in Wheeling, W.V., March 15, 1926 ,a son of the late Beecher J Rhoades and Grayce Long Rhoades.
April 10, 1948, he married the former Betty Elizabeth Burnside and they celebrated 66 years of marriage in April.
Roberta Ann Fuller, 62, of Chapman died Friday, May 23, 2014.
A celebration of her life were Wednesday, May 28, at Monroe Evangelical Free Church of Phillips. The Rev. Marshall Erickson and the Rev. Robert Stretch will officiate.Burial will be at the Monroe Church Cemetery.
Roberta was born April 6, 1952, at David City, to Bob and Darlene (Edwards) Shrader.
Thomas E. Joyce, age 85, of Broken Bow, passed away Friday June 6, 2014 at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Burial was in the Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Broken Bow. Memorials may be made to the family.
Thomas E. Joyce was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Spalding, to Thomas J. and Leona (Walsh) Joyce. He attended school at Spalding Academy Schools and graduated in the class of 1946.
Wendell Carl Case, 84, of Ansley, passed away Tuesday, Dec.24, 2013. The second of three children, Wendell was born on Feb. 13, 1929 to Carl and Edith (Sherbeck) Case. With the exception of his military service, he lived his entire life in Ansley. He graduated from Ansley High School in 1947
In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his sister, Florence; and his brother, Charles.
He is survived by his sons, Robert and Alan; his grandchildren, Steven, Sean, Christina, Brooke, and Andrew, as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Nicholas Robert Noel, Jr., 55, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, May 28, at his home.
He was born June 24, 1958, in Kearney.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; sons, Nicholas Robert Noel III and Eric Noel; parents, Nicholas, Sr. and Mary Noel; sisters, Cathy (Danny) Johnson of Lincoln, Jane (Bill) Varney of Hot Springs, Ark., and Kris Farritor and Rick Sturgis of Mesa, Ariz.; brothers, David of Broken Bow, and John (Teresa) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and many nieces and nephews.
