Funeral Services for Hazel I. Goings were conducted at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Wednesday, April 9, 2014, with Pastor Linda Knipping-Potts officiating. Interment followed in the Prairie Home Cemetery.
Hazel Irene Goings, 94 years of age, of Bertrand, formerly of Holdrege, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege.
Everett Eugene Barnes, the fourth of six children, was born in Broken Bow to Lyle Kermit and MaryAlice (Patterson) Barnes Feb. 21,1942, and passed away March 24, 2014 at the
Melham Hospital in Broken Bow at the age 72.
Everett spent his childhood and teenage years in the Brewster and Dunning areas. He went to grade school in Brewster and later graduated from Dunning High School in 1961. As a young teenager, he drove a fuel truck and also worked at various ranches in the Dunning area.
Regina T. Farvour, age 66, died in her home Friday, March 28, 2014.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Berean Church in Broken Bow. Iverson Memorial Chapel of Broken Bow is in charge of arrangements.
Regina was born June 23, 1947.
She is survived by her children, James Chamberlain, DeWayne Thornton and Angel Kasselder; grandchildren, Alexyss Chamberlain, James Chamberlain, Brad Thornton, Andrew Thornton and Christian House, and great-grandchild, Kaylee House.

Mildred Irene Cook, age 98, of Broken Bow, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow.
Mildred was born Feb. 21, 1916, in York County, to Christian D. and Ida Mae (Schneller) Hanneman. Mildred grew up in the Ansley area. She graduated from Ansley High School in 1932.
Hildegard Lindner, age 86 of Lincoln, died Monday March 31, 2014, at the Tabitha Care Home in Lincoln. Funeral Services will be Friday April 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary and 5-7 p.m. at the church. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the church.
Sally Vannice, 66, departed this earth Thursday, March 17, the first day of Spring.
Sally was born in Allentown, Pa, in 1947, and was adopted at the age of 6 months by her parents, Kathryn and Kenneth Poorman of Lock Haven, Pa.
She graduated summa cum laude from Northern Michigan University in 1977. Soon after, she moved to Lincoln, where she worked for the University of Nebraska Athletic Department and the Liquor Control Commission. She later worked for the Metropolitan Community College.
Glen C. Birney, age 52, died Sunday March 23, 2014 at his home near Broken Bow. Funeral services will be Thursday March 27, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow, with the Rev. Todd Karges officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary, with the family greeting friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the family, to be designated at a later date.
James Arthur (Jim) Lyddon of Omaha, formerly of Broken Bow, passed away on March 1, 2014, at his daughters home in Littleton, Colo.
The youngest son of Kenneth and Mabel (Edwards) Lyddon was born on February 21, 1937, in Kenosha, Wisc. He grew up in multiple locations including Kenosha, Wisc., and Chicago, Ill.; but it was Broken Bow, Neb., his family settled in 1947 opening the Ben Franklin and Fabric Center.
Joan Ruth Ostrand was born April 18, 1948, in Sargent to Paul and Frances Wagner. She passed away in her home in Omaha on Feb. 23, 1014.
She grew up in Nebraska living part of teen years in Broken Bow where she attended High School. Joan attended Evangel College in Springfield, Mo., before marrying David Ostrand of Ansley.
They lived in Colorado Springs, CO., where their son, Karl was born. Later they moved to Virginia Beach, VA., where they lived for 25 years.
Kearney, NE- Roger D. Clay, age 60, of Merna, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 21, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with the Rev. Barry Johnson officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation is planned for Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Roger was born on July 28, 1953, in Broken Bow to Ralph and Betty (Christensen) Clay.
