Stella M. Andersen, 88, of Ord, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord.
Mrs. Andersenâ€™s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Glenda Pearson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Osco Cemetery near Norman, Nebr. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Ord Flag Fund, Ord Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department or the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Norman D. â€śPeteâ€ť Peterson, 80, of Kearney died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City.
Marvin W. Beatty, 74, of Kearney, died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. A memorial service was Wednesday, April 30, at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church with the Rev. Letha Mae Graf, age 77, of Burwell, died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Burwell Community Memorial Health Center.
Graveside funeral service were Wednesday, April 30, at the Ansley Cemetery in Ansley, with the Rev. Alan Petersen officiating.
Letha was born Jan. 3, 1937, at Milford, to Mable Graf. She made her home at Beatrice, Ord, and Burwell. Letha was talented embroiderer, she loved bird watching, and putting puzzles together.
Clifton N. Robertson, 79, of Pine Bluffs, Wyo., went home to be with his Lord April 16, 2014 at the Sun Valley Care Home in Casa Grande, Ariz.
Clif was born June 5, 1934, in Oconto. After his graduation from Callaway High School, Clif migrated to the Hereford and Grover, Colo., area and went to work for Bunell Ranch. Later, Clif came to Pine Bluffs to work for the Gross Wilkinson Ranch and at the RS Walters Grain Elevator. Clif married Linda Bockus May 26, 1955.
Delilah R. VanVleet, 86 of Kearney, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 2, at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. The Rev. Mitch Ivey will officiate. Interment will be in the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to Grace Fellowship Church in Kearney. After a courageous battle with cancer, David Jerome Smith â€śDaveâ€ť passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his two children and loving companion, Lori. Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Anne; brother, Dan; and parents, Dorothy Smith and John Smith.
Dave is survived by his children, Zachary David and Blair Catherine; grandchildren, David and Scott; and siblings, Cathy, Mike, Pat, Mark, Scott, Tom, Tim and Teri.
Ilene Hulinsky, age 77 of Broken Bow, died Friday April 18, 2014, at the Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Memorial services were Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with Pastor Alan Petersen officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Ilene L. Hulinsky was born Nov. 19, 1936, at Burwell, to Clarence and Daisy (Palmer) Gumb. She was married to Frank Hulinsky Nov. 23, 1954, at Burwell. The couple lived at Fort Hartsuff, near Burwell. They later moved to Gothenburg.
Roger H. Hanson, 89, of Kearney passed away peacefully Friday, April 18, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society â€“ St. Johnâ€™s in Kearney.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at St. Lukeâ€™s Episcopal Church in Kearney with Father Jerry Ness officiating. Burial with military rites was provided by Kearney American Legion Post 52, Kearney V.F.W. Post 759 and the Nebraska National Guard Military Honors Team at the Kearney Cemetery.
Roger was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Bertrand to Easton and Irene (Adkins) Hanson.
Roger Waller of Falls Church, Va., passed away peacefully April 17, 2014. He was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Holdrege, to Milford and Minnie Waller.
Roger was part of the â€śGreatest Generationâ€ť, growing up in the Great Depression. He was raised on a farm in central Nebraska. He was a World War II veteran; having been in both the Battle of the Bulge and Ramagen Bridge, receiving the Bronze Star. He was educated under the GI bill receiving a bachelors of science degree in Accounting from the University of Denver in 1949.
