Virginia L. Jones, 81, of Ravenna, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center.
According to her wishes Virginia was cremated and a private family graveside service will be at a later date.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home and Cremation Services is serving the family.
Virginia was born July 11, 1933, at Springfield, to Lee Roy and Grace Mae (Lefler) Banks. She grew up and received her education in Springfield.
She was united in marriage to Melroy Jones in 1955.
Wilda Jackson, age 77 of Stuart, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at her home.
Funeral services were Saturday Nov. 1, 2014, at the United Methodist Church in Bassett, with the Rev. Rodney Heibrun officiating.
Burial was in the Bassett Cemetery.
Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Newport Community Fire Hall.
Wilda Jackson was born Nov. 4, 1936, at Brewster, to Gwynne and Gertrude (Ewing) Neubauer.
Wilda attended school in Brewster graduating in 1954.
Teddie Trotter 73, died Nov. 2, 2014, at home in Broken Bow with his family by his side.
He was born April 24, 1941, at Kimball, to Emery Trotter and Ina (Beards) Trotter.
August 17, 1963, he married Laverna Shears in Armour S.D. To this union three sons were born Travis, Max and Damon.
They made their home in Broken Bow, later moving to his Post Master job in Merriman and his Post Master job in Big Springs and back to Broken Bow.
Ted never knew a stranger and always struck up a conversation with anyone as well as having a smile and making people feel welcome.
Maxine L. Bednarski (Weldin) of Broken Bow, was born in Lincoln,
Jan. 29, 1925. Two days later she was adopted by Earl
and Irene Weldin, of Broken Bow, and was to be their only child.
Maxine, or âMickie,â (what everyone called her), was raised in Broken Bow.
She was well respected for her beautiful coloratura soprano singing voice
and was a regular performer at local events. Her singing career took her to the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she performed
live on the radio at the age of 17. Always the adventurer, she got her pilotâs license at the age of 19.
DeLilah Rose Zimmerman, age 81 of Broken Bow, died Saturday Nov. 1, 2014, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Tuesday Nov. 4, 2014, at the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow with Pastor David Hansen Officiating. Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of the arrangements.
Jean Atkinson 95, of Gothenburg, died Oct. 20, 2014, at Hilltop Estates, in Gothenburg.
She was born Jan. 9, 1919, in Broken Bow, daughter of Emory and Hazel
Jeanâs family moved to the Banner Community near Gothenburg. She married
Royal Atkinson April 10, 1940, at Banner Church; to this union two children were born, Peggy and Dee.
They moved to the original Atkinson family homestead and shared the home with Royalâs grandmother.
She was a busy mom and farm wife raising her garden and keeping her yard beautiful.
Mary Alice (Cleavenger) Elliott was born May 18, 1924, at Mullen, to Charles and Mary Ann (Mayme) (Totten) Cleavenger. She was the youngest of three children.
Mary passed away at the age of 90 Oct. 26, 2014.
Mary graduated from Mullen High School in 1943. She worked in Johnsonâs Grocery Store while in high school and in later years for Duttonâs Store.
She married Almond Dean Elliott in Seattle, Wash., June 17, 1943. To this union five children were born.
Shirley Swanson, 87 years of age, from Minden, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at the Bethany Home in Minden. Memorial services will be Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Westminster United
Presbyterian Church in Minden with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements.
Shirley was born July 11, 1927, in Merna, to Kenneth and Helen (Runner) Shultz.
She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1944 and taught in a one-room school north of Merna.
Bobby Raymond Sutton, 92, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Burwell. Services will be held at a later date.
Bobby was born Sept. 18, 1922, to Raymond and Ethel (Wells) Sutton on the Sutton Homestead west of Sargent.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an older brother, Sterling; and
brother-in-law, Ken Hilligas.
Les Baller of Omaha was born Dec 29, 1944, and passed away Oct 21, 2014
Les was born in Broken Bow. He was Retired Vice President of Underwriting for National Indemnity.
Les was preceded in death by parents, Lester and Helen Baller; sisters, Kay Schweitzer and Reita Alexander.
He is survived by wife, Marilyn K. Baller; daughters, Carrie DâAgosto (Patrick) and Mandi Turner (Steve); grandchildren, Amber and Anna Turner, Vincent and Mia DâAgosto.
Services were Oct. 24, at Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S. 114 St., Omaha.
Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
