Jacob J. Hothem, of Hickman, formerly of Sumner, passed away March 12, 2015, at the age of 90 years and 9 months old. Born June 12, 1924 in Sumner, NE to Jacob Charles and Cassie Floy (Walker) Hothem.
He was an U. S. Army Veteran.
He was a retired farmer/service manager at Farmland Coop and also worked at Dawson County Weed District.
Kay Irene Jacobsen, 78, of Kearney, formerly Broken Bow, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the Homestead Assisted Living in Kearney.
Memorial services were Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Kearney. the Rev. Roger McDermott officiated and burial will be later.
Memorials are suggested to the Homeward Trail Bible Camp in Mason City, care of the family.

Gerald E. â€˜Gilâ€™ Springer, 68, of Dunning, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in an accident near Dunning.
Gil was born May 2, 1946, at McCook, to Don and Rose (Larson) Springer. He graduated from Cozad in 1965.
Gil started farming in the Platte Valley area, then moved to the Sandhills, working for several ranches in the area.
He married Alice Prentice Aug. 18, 1973, in Mullen. To this union two children were born.
Former Thedford resident, Donna Brewer, 90, died Tuesday, March 10,
2015, at Wahoo.
Donna Lucy (Sinkler) Brewer was born July 21, 1924, in Loup City, to James and Frieda (Meyers) Sinkler. She grew up in Sherman and Custer counties on several farms. She attended and graduated from Litchfield High School. Following graduation, she taught at a small
country school in Sherman County.
Donna married Earl Brewer, and they made their home in Thedford.
She was active as a 4-H leader, in the American Legion and VFW
Auxiliaries, and she ran concessions for Thedford and Legion baseball.
Edith Allen passed away March 7, 2015, at Cozad.
Edith was born Feb. 22, 1930, at Callaway, to James and LaVina (Garringer) Elston.
She was raised in Oconto, and graduated from Oconto High School.
Edith taught school for awhile.
December 24, 1954, she married Earl Lou Allen, Sr. Edith and Earl were blessed with six children, James, Earl Jr., Cathy, Jeanne, Vicky and Sherry.
They lived in Plattsmouth, York and Dawson County.
Edith worked as a nurses aid for several years before her husband passed away in 1968.
Kyle L. Pierce, age 19, of Oconto, died Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Funeral services were Friday, March 6, in the Callaway High School gymnasium with Pastor Larry DeMoss officiating.Â Burial was in the Lodi Cemetery between Oconto and Callaway.Â
Govier Brothers Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

James (Jim) Cunningham, 64, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, in Long Beach, Calif.Â
Jim was born March 10, 1950, the third child of Frank P. and Edith F. Cunningham of Broken Bow.Â
He graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1968.
Following graduation, he joined his parents in southern California and took a successful job as a computer programmer.Â In the early 1990s, Jim moved back to Broken Bow and opened a computer store.Â
After several years in Broken Bow, he became an over the road truck driver and subsequently moved back to the Los Angeles area.Â
Shirley Rae Manning, 78, of Glendale, Ariz., born April 25, 1936, at a farm west of Merna, passed away surrounded by the love of her family Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Ariz.
Shirley Rae rejoins her husband, Garold Duane Manning (Oct. 18, 1934-Nov. 29, 2006), whom she married June 16, 1954 in Anselmo. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Pearl (nee Koening) Gehrman of Merna.
Shirley grew up on beautiful farm country in Nebraska until her family settled in Merna by 1949.
Candice L. Jones, age 53, of Broken Bow, Ne. died Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Jennie Melham Hospital in Broken Bow.
A Memorial service will be Friday, March 13, at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow with Minister Kathy Salts officiating.Â Inurnment will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.Â A guest book may be signed Thursday, March 12, at Govier Brothers Mortuary 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.Â Memorials are suggested to Candiceâ€™s family.
Candice L. Jones was born Sept. 22, 1961, in Broken Bow, to Donald and Marge (Ondrak) Jones.Â
Richard Keefe age 71 of Sargent, died Thursday, March 5, 2015, as result of an automobile accident near Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sargent with Father James Hunt officiating. Burial was in the Dry Valley Cemetery near Comstock. Memorials are suggested to the Knights of Columbus.Â A Rosary service was Tuesday at the Church.
Richard Morris Keefe was born Aug. 22, 1943, at Ord, to Morris and Therese (Hansen) Keefe. The family lived in Burwell.Â
