Major Richard âRickâ M. Ramirez, 81, of Loveland, Colo., passed away at his home Jan. 15, 2015.
Richard was born to Salvador and Gloria (Bargas) Ramirez Dec. 30, 1933, in Detroit, Mich.
He began working at an early age, and earned a certificate of merit for outstanding record as a Detroit Times news carrier when he was 14 years old. At age 17 he began an apprenticeship at Ford Motor Company in die making.
Jamison L. âJJâ Vanderheiden, age 18, of York, , died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at York.
He was born Oct. 3, 1996, in San Diego, Calif., to Randy and Julie (Weverka) Vanderheiden.
JJ was a senior at York High School where he excelled in football, wrestling and soccer and had been recruited by Hastings College to play football next year. JJ was also involved with FFA. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in York.
Margaret Spies, of Merrill, Iowa entered Eternal Life Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Unity Point-St. Lukeâs Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 105 years, 13 days.
Services were Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at the Melbourne United Methodist Church, rural Merrill, Iowa with Pastor Kolleen Queener officiating. Interment followed at Floyd Valley Cemetery, rural Hinton, Iowa.

Louana Schall, 79, of Kearney, formerly of Litchfield, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services were Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Litchfield Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family to designate at a later date. Rasmussen Funeral Home of Ravenna was in charge of arrangements.
Louana was born June 20, 1935, in Loup City, the daughter of Ross and Ruth (Heins) Douglas.Â She grew up in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1952.Â
Oma Maxine Hyatt, age 96, passed from this life Sunday morning, Jan. 25, 2015, at Heritage Hall in Broken Bow.
Maxine was born to Lloyd and Eulalia (Smith) Hyatt Jan. 30, 1918, near Merna. She was raised in rural Custer County and learned at an early age the value of honesty and hard work from her parents and grandparents.
She accepted Christ as her Savior as a young girl and was baptized July 2, 1933.
Judy Beatrice Taylor, age 64, of Broken Bow, went to be with her Lord and savior Jan. 22, 2015, in the comfort of her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Judy was born Aug. 22, 1950, to Arthur John and Pearl (Predmore) Haumont. She attended King School through the Eighth grade. Eighth grade graduation was special, as she was not only a graduate, but was also the Pianist for the event. She then attended Broken Bow High School.
Bonnie Grein Fankhauser, 81 of North Platte passed away Jan. 19, 2015, at Great Plains Health. She was born March 24, 1933 in Hermosa, SD to Frank and Naomi Blanche (Martin) Grein. She attended high school in Rushville.
September 5, 1950, she married John Fankhauser in Scottsbluff. To this union four children were born.
In 1952 the couple moved to North Platte, where Bonnie sold Tupperware, worked at K-Mart, and worked as a cashier at 6th Street Food Stores and U-Save for 27 years.
Funeral Services for Catherine M. Knittle will be Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home Chapel in Wilcox, with Pastor Stan Murdock officiating. Interment will be at the Wilcox Cemetery at Wilcox following the service.
Catherine Mae Knittle, 93 years of age, of Wilcox, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.
Mary Ellen Thomas, age 91 of Eddyville, died Jan. 17, 2015, at the St. Lukeâs Nursing Home in Kearney.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Burr Oak CommunityChurch, with a lunch following. After the lunch, burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.Â Visitation will be Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family greeting friends 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.Â
Memorials are suggested to the Burr Oak Church or the Homeward Trail Bible Camp at Mason City, NE.Â
Helen Coffman, 100, of Chandler, Ariz., entered into Heaven Dec. 23, 2014.
She was born July 20, 1914, to Francis and Charles Price near Berwyn. She was the oldest of three children. Brothers Paul and Roy Price and parents preceded her.
Helen married Claire Coffman, a farmer, rancher, businessman, December 7, 1933. They were happily married for 68 years, until Claire at 91 went to be with the Lord Feb. 2, 2002.
