Robert Lyle Markham, 41

February 12, 2015

Robert Lyle Markham was born Nov. 14, 1973, to Jim and Phyllis (Waffensmith) Markham in Broken Bow. Robert passed away Feb. 4, 2015, at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center at the age of 41.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow.

Robert attended Anselmo-Merna Public Schools graduating in 1992. After graduation he attended Chadron State College.  He then worked various jobs including Adams Land and Cattle before establishing his own business known as RM Construction.

Grant L. Schnase, 90

Grant L. Schnase, age 90 of Ansley, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at the Golden LivingCenter in Broken Bow.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Ansley, with the Rev. Mel Shepherd officiating.  Burial was in the Ansley Cemetery with Military Honors. 

Memorials may be given to the family. 

Grant Leroy Schnase was born April 17, 1924, to William and Myrtle (Rogers) Schnase at Litchfield. 

June 10, 1951, he was married to Margy Ann Holland. To this union 11 children were born.

Harry Crawford, Jr., 98

February 4, 2015

Harry Crawford, Jr., age 98, passed away at Homestead at Hickory View in Washington, Mo., on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015.

He was born to the late Harry and Blanche Crawford April 2, 1916, in Seneca.

He was united in marriage to Grace McKinley July 3, 1940, in Seneca.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge and a faithful member of the Faith Baptist Church.

A funeral service was Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 from the Faith Baptist Church, Washington, Mo.

Burial was in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Washington, Mo.

Tom Clements, 84

Funeral services for Tom Clements of Crawford, were Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crawford. Burial with Military Honors were at the Crawford City Cemetery.

Thomas A. Clements Jr., age 84, of Crawford, passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at the Fort Meade Hospice in Sturgis, S.D. He passed away peacefully with his three daughters by his side.

Clarence D. Davenport, 94

Clarence D. Davenport, 94, of Callaway, passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at Heritage Hall in Broken Bow, Nebraska.

He was born Aug. 19, 1920, near Callaway, to Harvey and Lena A. (Beechler) Davenport. Clarence was the youngest of five children. He was baptized as a baby in to the catholic faith and confirmed at the age of 12. He was a devoted and faithful catholic all of his 94 plus years.

Daniel Lee Brost, 56

Daniel Lee Brost parted from this life Jan. 29, 2015.  He was born to Margie (Tschacher) and Fred Brost of Hemingford, March 25, 1957. Dan was the fourth of five boys who grew up on a ranch north of Hemingford. 

Dorothy Ann Hammond, 74

February 4, 2015

Dorothy was born June 20, 1940, at the Lexington hospital. She returned home after a few days to the Glen Gulden farm located two miles west of Bertrand. Her mother, Pauline (Sutlief) Gulden of Smithfield, her father, Glen Gulden of Smithfield and her brother, Dale Gulden were excited for the new addition to the family.

Henry ‘Hank’ Struempler, 90

Henry “Hank” Conrad Struempler, age 90, of Broken Bow, formerly of Berwyn, went to be with his Lord and Savior  Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Golden LivingCenter in Broken Bow.

Henry was born April 4, 1924, to Fritz and Minnie (Schwarze) Struempler west of Oconto. 

April 29, 1945, he was united in marriage to Arlene Knispel, daughter of William and Clara Knispel, at the Buffalo Lutheran Church.  When first married, they lived and farmed on Redfern Table near Oconto. In 1949 they purchased a farm near Berwyn, where they made their home and raised four children.

Marlene D. Raymond, 77

Marlene D. Raymond, 77, of Madison, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28

Mrs. Raymond was preceded in death by her parents, Renold E. Dutton and Sarah L. Dutton; and brother, Douglas Dutton.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Raymond; children, Scott Raymond of Orlando, Fla., Dee Ann Cypent (David) of Madison, Bruce Raymond (Sherry) of Madison, and Robert Raymond of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Reese Mitchell, Cassie Mitchell and Matthew Raymond; brother, Richard Dutton; and sister, Carol McAlhaney.

Fern Hall age 96 of Arnold, passed away Jan. 30, 2015. 

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
