Anna Marie Jahn, age 57, presently of North Platte, died Saturday morning June 23, 2012, at 7:21 a.m., at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center, as the result of a severe fall and stroke.
Anna Marie was born July 12, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo., to Keith and Alyce Mary (Boyd) Jahn and she was the only child of this union. In 1963, the family moved back to Falls City to take over the family trucking business, Jahn Livestock Transportation, which later became Jahn Transportation.
Florene Gould, 89, of Arcadia passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, at the Rose Lane Home in Loup City.
A Celebration of her life was Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Floreneâ€™s granddaughter, Chaplin Trish Redding officiated. Burial was in the Arcadia City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Rose Lane Home or Asera Care Hospice. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
William Herbert Spry was born June 17, 1919, in Milford, and passed away June 10, 2012, in Sparks, Nev. He grew up in Oconto. Graveside funeral services will be Friday, June 22, at 9 a.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island.
Archie V. Roberts, age 91, of Ansley, died Sunday, June 17, at the Nebraska Veterans Hospital in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ansley, with the Rev. Barbara Spangler officiating. Burial will be in the Ansley Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be Thursday June 21 from 3-8 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Ansley United Methodist Church or the VFW Post 3576.
Wynonna LaVonne Myers Smith, 94, of Callaway, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, the Callaway Good Samaritan Center in Callaway.
She was born in Callaway, May 26, 1918, the daughter of Troy and Ruth Maze Myers. She was married for 69 years to her best friend and the love of her life, Foster Smith, who preceded her in death.
LaVonne graduated from Callaway High School and as a young adult was employed at the Callaway Grocery and Market. After marriage to Foster, she spent many years as a homemaker, wonderful mother, gardener, cook, quilter, and seamstress.
Gladys Wolf, age 101 of Broken Bow, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at her home in Broken Bow.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with the Rev. Todd Karges officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of the arrangements. Memorials have been established to the Broken Bow United Methodist Church or the Broken Bow Rebekah Lodge.
Jean C. Minnick age 83 of Cambridge, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Jean was born in St. Paul. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1946.
She attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism. Jean was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.
June 16, 1948, Jean was united in marriage to Paul Minnick. He preceded her in death Nov. 16, 2006. Jean worked for the Cambridge Hospital and later as secretary at the Cambridge Public Schools for more than 10 years.
Margie Iva (Yohn) Kvasnicka, 85, of Wilber, passed away June 12, 2012. She was born Oct. 21, 1926, in Mason City, to William and Christina (Albrecht) Yohn
Margie attended Mason City School. She married Edwin Price, and to this union four children were born.
While working at Russell Stovers, she attended Lincoln School of Commerce then started working at the Nebraska Bookstore.
James Earl Reed, age 91 of Broken Bow, died June 6, 2012, at Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. Funeral services were Monday, June 11, at Govier Brothers Mortuary with Floyd Ditson officiating. Interment was in the Custer Center Cemetery, with Govier Brothers Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reed was born Sept. 10, 1920, at Broken Bow to James and Nancy (Ditson) Reed. He grew up in Custer County and moved to Dunning in May of 1940. He married May Peirson Nov. 30, 1940. They lived in the Dunning area until 1954, when they moved 25 miles north of Thedford.
Jerry Keyser, 80, of Callaway, formerly of Arnold, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Callaway District Hospital in Callaway, following a lengthy illness.
Jerry was born Jan. 19, 1932, at Kearney Hospital in Kearney, to Lester and Emma (Cruise) Keyser. Jerry moved to Arnold in September 1946, where he met his future bride, Jo Anne Spargo.
The couple was married Nov. 22, 1950, at North Platte. Four children were blessed to this marriage.
He was a member of the Elkâ€™s Lodge, the Eagles Club, Moose Lodge, and a member of the Arnold Volunteer Fire Department, where he was an active EMT.
