James âJimâ Garner of Cameron Park, Calif., a 1957 graduate of Mason City High School died Sunday, June 1, 2014.
Jim was stationed in Korean, serving in 1959/1961.
Jim was employed for approximately 25 years by Square D of Lincoln and Columbia, Mo., as a computer technician.
He was preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Bernadine Garner; and a brother, Jerry of Brownlee.
Helen Havel, 92, of Milligan passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at her home.
Helen was born Oct, 16, 1921, to Jaroslav and Anezka Hendrych near Milligan, the last of four children.
Helen graduated from Milligan High School in 1938.
She married Donald R. Havel in 1945, who preceded her in death, April 27, 2000.
She lived her entire life in the Milligan and Exeter area.
Jerrold Alan Gardner, 74, of Mitchell, died Monday, June 09, 2014, at the Mitchell Care Center surrounded by family and friends.
Jerrold was born on Dec. 8, 1939, in Lexington, he son of Ira and Ruth (Anderson) Gardner of Broken Bow.
He was a loyal and devoted husband of 50 years to Virginia (Reinhard) Gardner from Callaway, and a loving father to Marjorie.
He attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and spent 40 years as an engineer with the Nebraska Department of Roads.He received many awards for his meritorious service.

The story of Chick Moyerâs life centered around his business endeavors, family, golf and many good times had with friends over the years. His wishes were that everyone gather for a celebration of his life.
Clarine Shirley Ryman was born to Pete and Hazel Rodocker May 3, 1923 ,in Halsey. She graduated from Halsey High School and married Melvin LeRoy Ryman June 15, 1941.
Most of her married life was spent living in Halsey with time also spent in Buffalo, N.Y., Omaha, Denver, Colo., and South Dakota.
Later in life she moved to Broken Bow where she made many new friends. However, Halsey was always home to her, no matter where she lived.
Clarine was the mother of four children, Melva Louise, Kathie Diane, Robert Ray, and Julie Jo.
David B. Williams, 65, of Ord passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Valley County Health System in Ord.
A Celebration of Life was Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the Ord Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Trever Rook officiating. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery. Military Honors were presented by the Ord VFW Post #7029 and American Legion Post #38; and Offutt Air Force Base Military Honor Guard.
Memorials are suggested to the Ord Flag Fund.
Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Carol Nadine Spanel, age 81 of Broken Bow, died Friday, June 27, 2014, at Off Broadway Apartments in Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Tuesday July 1, 2014 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Hugh Spanel officiating. Burial was in Saint Anselms Catholic Cemetery at Anselmo.
Carol N. Spanel was born Jan. 27, 1933, at Merna, to Levi Duffie and Thelma (Johnson) Cantrell. She attended Merna public School.
Carol (McGraw) Swartz, 83, of Grand Island, died Friday, June 27, 2014 at Tiffany Square.
Services were Wednesday, July 2, at Calvary Lutheran
Church. The Rev. Sheri Lodel officiated. To honor Carol's wishes,
cremation will take place following the service. A private family burial of ashes will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
All Faiths Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Merrill W. Berkheimer, 75, of Hazard, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at his home. Funeral services were Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Kearney Classic Car Collection Museum with the Rev. Marta Wheeler officiating. Burial was at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery following the service. Visitation was Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney.
Doris A. McAlevy, 74, of Broken Bow passed away July 3, 2014, at Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
A memorial service for Doris was July 9, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Broken Bow with Kathy Salts officiating. Burial was at the Merna cemetery.
Doris was born May 8, 1940, at home in Brady to John and Lily (Dovenbarger) Parkhurst.
Doris married Russell McAlevy Aug. 26, 1958, on Travis Air Force Base in California.
