Thelma P. Hudson, age 98, of Broken Bow, died Saturday April 23, 2011, at the Golden LivingCenter in Broken Bow.
Memorial graveside service was April 27, at the Merna Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Stones officiating. Inurnment was in the Merna Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements.
Thelma Hudson is survived by a son, Gaylor Hudson of Milaca, Minn.; several nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Earl.
Dorothy Sue (Bundy) Ficken was born April 8, 1916, to John Henry Bundy, Sr., and Mossie (Mise) Bundy on a farm northeast of Springfield.
Dorothy was baptized as an infant at the First United Methodist Church in Springfield. She attended elementary and high school in Springfield, graduating with the class of 1935.
After graduation she worked as a Nanny for 10 years. During these years Dorothy hand pieced many beautiful quilts and crocheted doilies.
Lawrence Ivan Dady was born May 26, 1916, at Mason City, and left this earth Feb. 7, 2011, in Kingman, Ariz. He was 94-years-old.
Funeral services were March 26 at the Norco Christian Church in Norco, Calif., with the Rev. Alton Vance officiating. Entombment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, Calif., with Forest Lawn Mortuay of Cypress in charge of arrangements.
Wayne Benzler age 91 of Broken Bow formerly of North Platte died Monday February 21, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow.
Memorial services will be Saturday April 23, 2011 at 1:30 PM at the Weissert Church of God at Weissert with Marvin Peterson officiating. Inurn-ment will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery at Weissert.
Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements.
Beverly Dewayne "Wayne" Benzler was born April 21, 1919, at Pleasanton, to Fred and Hazel M. (Staley) Benzler. Wayne was married to Ethel L. Brown at North Platte Jan. 15, 1943.
G. Verlene Talbot, age 86, of Broken Bow, passed away March 26, 2011, at the GoldenLiving Center in Broken Bow.
Sandy Talbot was born Oct. 15, 1924, the third child of Wendell and Edna (Jacobsen) Cosner. She was born at Lillian, and attended school at Lillian, graduating from Gates High School in 1942. After high school, she attended Omaha School of Beauty. Returning to Broken Bow, she started as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company until her retirement in 1982.
Ivan Coleman was born Oct. 16, 1930, in the rural Cliff Community near Merna, to Clarence and Mabel (Schaad) Coleman. he left this life April 12, 2011, at Heritage Hall in Broken Bow, due to a lengthy illness following a stroke Sept. 23, 2010.
Ivan received his elementary education at the Fairview School District and graduated from Merna High School in 1949, with sports being one of his greatest interests. he was a member of the Nebraska state champion football team in 1948.
Charlotte O. Runyan, age 83 of Grand Island, formerly of Mason City, died Saturday April 9, 2011, at the Grand Island Veterans Home.
Donald Bennett, 88 of Kearney, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at his residence in Kearney. Services were Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at O'Brien - Straatmann Funeral Home in Kearney with the Rev. Gary Main officiating. Interment was April 13 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pleasanton, with military honors provided by the Pleasanton American Legion. O'Brien - Straatmann Funeral Home of Kearney was in charge of arrangements.
Doris L. Spencer, age 83 of Brewster, died March 27, 2011, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell. Funeral services were Saturday April 2, at the Community Building in Brewster with the Rev. Alan Petersen officiating. Interment was in the Brewster Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Hereford Youth Foundation or American Legion Post #323.
LaVerna M. Hodson, age 68 of Broken Bow, died Thursday March 31, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with the Rev. Mark Stones officiating. Burial was in the Taylor Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been suggested to the One Child Campaign, in Tulsa, Okla.
LaVerna Mae Cook Hodson, 68, known to many for her candor, unique sense of humor, and love of life, went home to dance with the angels March 31, 2011.
