Sargent wins L-Club Tourney

The Sargent Lady Bulldogs defeated Anselmo-Merna in two sets to claim the L-Club Tourney championship. Litchfield handed Loup County a two set to one loss and took third place in their home tourney. South Loup defeated Amherst in two sets for fifth place.

Ansley claims LVC Championship

The Ansley Lady Warriors defeated the Mullen Lady Broncos to claim the Loup Valley Conference championship. The Lady Warriors won in three sets 28-26, 25-11 and 25-9. Ansley reached the championship game with a win over Arcadia 25-10, 25-17 and 25-19. Mullen edged Sargent 25-19, 23-25, 25-18 and 25-16 to reach the championship game.

Five teams to contend for district titles in final week

Three of five area teams will become district championships receiving automatic bids into the state playoffs this week. The Broken Bow Indians clinched the Class C1-9 district championship defeating Valentine last Friday 33-21. The Indians close their season at Cozad Thursday night. Even if the Indians lose to the Haymakers, the Indians claim the title by holding the head-to-head tie-breaker over Gothenburg.

Nine area teams began play in the LVC Tournament last night. Top seed Ansley and second seed Mullen hosted first round action with remaining games to be played Saturday at Loup County.

Lady Indians defeat Ainsworth

AINSWORTH -- The Broken Bow Lady Indians defeated Ainsworth 3-1 Tuesday night. Broken Bow won the first set 25-20, the second 25-11, lost the third 23-25 then closed out the match in the fourth 25-12. The win is Broken Bow's sixth of the season. The Lady Indians return home for a match against Shelton Thursday which will also be parents night!

S-E-M loses to Elwood in FKC Tournament

The S-E-M Lady Mustangs were defeated by Elwood 0-2 in the opening round of the Fort Kearney Conference Tournament Monday night. Fort Kearney Conference Tournament first round scores are as follows:

Vohland completes first round at State meet

Broken Bow's Brittany Vohland shot a first round 115 at the Girls Class C State Golf Tournament Monday. The Class C leader is Doniphan-Trumbull's Danielle Lemek who shot a first round score of 71. Vohland is scheduled to tee off at 10:34 a.m. today for second round play.

Indians move toward playoff spot with win over Swedes

The Custer County Chief's feature game of the week was the Broken Bow Indians at the Gothenburg Swedes.
This rivalry was not one to be missed as this year’s game was a battle for the top spot of the District C1-9 standings.
Gothenburg sported an undefeated record going into last night's contest, their Homecoming game, with their biggest win thus far over Minden (4-1).
Broken Bow’s win over Gothenburg moved them closer to an automatic spot in the playoffs, along with another possible district championship.

Lady Indian qualifies for State

ATKINSON -- Broken Bow's Brittany Vohland has qualified for the NSAA Girls Golf Championship. Vohland shot a 107 for a 10th place tie Monday at the Class C-3 district meet in Atkinson, her 10th place medal automatically qualifies her for the state meet. The Class C Championship will be hosted by the Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus Oct. 11-12.
Other Broken Bow scores among the Top 55 are Shanea Jones 129, Christine Horner 139 and Tia McAlevy 161.

Mullen, Broken Bow girls golf tees off at Districts today

The Broken Bow Lady Indians are in Atkinson today for the District C-3 at the Atkinson-Stuart Country Club. The Mullen girls golf team will travel to Bayard for the District C-5 meet at the Chimney Rock Golf Course.
