BROKEN BOW -- The Broken Bow boys basketball team won their third game and second straight against Centura last Friday night.
Defense and rebounding was the theme through the first three quarters. The Indians then found some offensive momentum in the fourth quarter scoring 16 points while holding to Centura to 9.

MULLEN -- The Mullen Broncos are back to their winning ways after suffering their second loss of the season to Class C2 rated North Platte St. Patrick’s 52-44.
The Broncos fell behind early in the first half as they were outscored 15-4 in the first quarter. The Broncos rallied in the second quarter to cut the lead to seven points trailing 28-21 at halftime.

HYANNIS -- Sandhills/ Thedford’s Kadi McFadden lit up the scoreboard with 28 points Saturday night against Hyannis. The most astonishing number was not the points but the number of 3-point shots McFadden made. Of McFadden’s 28 points, 24 came from behind the 3-point arc. McFadden had the shooters touch that led to her making 8 of 11 3-point attempts, 1 of 2 2-point attempts and she was 2 of 2 from the free throw line. These numbers add up to a 73 percent overall shooting performance.

SUMNER -- The SEM Mustang wrestlers edged Class A’s Kearney JV team to win their home invite last Friday. The Mustangs scored 196.5 points to Kearney JV’s 194. South Loup and Ansley/ Arcadia finished fifth and sixth respectively.
The Mustangs had five gold medal champions, Cale Eacker (135), John Frerichs (145), Calvin Frerichs (152), Trevan Claflin (160) and Zach Burden (171). The also received two second place medals, Collin Donahoo (189) and Austin Pierce (215).
Ansley/Arcadia’s Ryan Hircock won gold at 189 pounds while his brother, Stuart, finished second at 160 pounds.

SUMNER -- The SEM Mustangs were were stunned by Axtell last Friday night losing 39-37. The Mustangs had a 20-15 lead at halftime but Axtell outscored them 13-7 in the third quarter to take the lead by one point. The Mustangs regained the lead early in the fourth quarter only to fall behind for good with five minutes left to play.
Dillan Line scored 23 points to lead the Mustangs. Also scoring for SEM were Lance English with 7 points, John O’Neill 2, Angel Boteo 2, Brandon Trampe 2 and Andrey Gallegos 1.

DUNNING - The Mullen Lady Broncos took an early 14-6 lead and never looked back for the 61-47 win over Sandhills/ Thedford last Friday night.
Clara Vinton and Madi Tomlinson led he Lady Broncos with 15 points each followed by Mardee Sierks with 14 points and Rachel Hoesing with 9 rebounds.
Shelby Saner scored 21 points to lead the Lady Knights followed by Kadi McFadden with 9, Tylee Coffman 6, Jonnie Staub 5, Sarah Miles 3, Michaela Miles 2 and Kaitlin Marten 1.
