The Dale Kugler Memorial Ranch Rodeo at the Custer County Fair was moved to Tuesday evening this year from it's traditional weekend afternoon slot. Following are the results of the Ranch Rodeo:
1st-Gaffney Ranch - 280.33 seconds; Drew Gaffney, Kevin Rosenback, Brad Miller and Brett Miller
2nd-Jones Ranch - 286.05 seconds; Justin Jones, K.C. Jones, Alesa Jones and Myles Stoner
3rd-Reynolds Ranch - 280.33 seconds; Kent Reynolds, Jason Young, Trevor Eggleston and Andy Knott

CENTRAL CITY--The Broken Bow Seniors saw their season come to a conclusion at the Class B American Legion Baseball Tournament at Central City.
In an elimination game Sunday morning, Broken Bow lost an 8-0 decision to league rival Aurora and finished their season with a 16-13 overall record. In the first inning both teams were held scoreless. Aurora scored a run in the bottom of the second inning, added three runs in the fourth inning and two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings.
Hundreds battled the heat and watched the 2011 Custer County Classic. Results and pictures will be available in this weeks issue of the Custer County Chief.
CENTRAL CITY-- The Broken Bow Senior Baseball squad was eliminated over the weekend at the Class B American Legion Baseball Tournament at Central City. Broken Bow lost to Seward 12-2 in the first round. Broken Bow faced league rival Aurora Sunday morning in an elimination game and lost 8-0. GOTHENBURG--Broken Bow beat McCook and won the B-6 Area Championship in Gothenburg. Broken Bow needed to beat McCook twice and they did just that. Broken Bow won the first game 12-2 after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule paving the way for a winner-take-all championship game. In the second game Broken Bow continued where they left off and won 11-0 after five innings again due to the 10-run mercy rule.
GOTHENBURG--The Broken Bow Senior Baseball team played for the B-6 Area Tournament Championship Wednesday night against McCook in Gothenburg. Broken Bow looks to avenge an earlier loss to McCook. Broken Bow beat Gothenburg 9-3 to advance to the championship game.
Broken Bow will need to beat McCook twice to advance to the state tournament in Central City. Full recap and stats will be in next weekâ€™s Custer County Chief.
Fourth-seed Broken Bow faced first-seed Gothenburg in the second game of the winnerâ€™s bracket and upset Gothenburg 11-4.
BROKEN BOW--This past weekend the Broken Bow Cosmos Swim Team hosted their annual swim meet. It also marked the end of an age. The swim meet was the last 50-meter competition to take place in Broken Bow. The new pool thatâ€™s slated to open next summer is 25 meters in length.
There was a strong showing from the swimmers that swam for the final time in the only pool theyâ€™ve known.
Blake Denson placed first in the Male 8 and under 100-meter freestyle and was runner-up in the 50 meter freestyle and 200 meter freestyle.
McCOOK--The Broken Bow Junior Baseball team saw their 2011 season come to an end at the B- 6 Area Tournament in McCook this past Saturday.
NORTH PLATTE-- The Broken Bow Cosmos swim team was in action last week at the North Platte Invite.
It was a successful day in the pool for multiple athletes.
Alyssa Cyboron took first place honors in the 50 meter backstroke and fifth in both the 50 meter breast stroke and freestyle. Kassidy Cyboron was the runner-up in the 100 free and fourth in the under 50 free.
Blake Denson finished third in both the Under 100 free and Under 50 free.
Chay Nelson won the 200 breaststroke, was the runner-up in the 200IM and 100 fly and placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke.
BROKEN BOW--The American Legion Baseball season is winding down and the Broken Bow Senior team is attempting to play their best baseball before the area tournament in three weeks and the state tournament slated to begin at the end of the month.
This past Sunday Broken Bow traveled to Ogallala looking to avenge a loss last week. Both teams were shut out through the first three innings of play. In the bottom of the fourth inning Ogallala scored and added another run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
