South Loup's Lane Gascoigne wound up finishing in a tie for 21st at the Class D state golf tournament. He shot an 82 the first day and an 89 on the second day of the tournament. As a team, South Loup finished 13th overall with a team total of 772. Mullen also was able to qualify for state as a team and they finished 15th. Their total score has not yet been determined. Broken Bow junior Tanner Johnson came into the state invite on a hot streak and the higher stakes didn't deter him. Johnson finished 4th overall today completing a todays round with a score of 76, five strokes lower than his first round. Sophomore Marcus Miller had a respectable finish as well, he tallied an 82 on the day. This was also five strokes lower than his first round. He finished tied for 27th. After the first round of play, Tanner Johnson sits tied for 10th overall with an 81. Marcus Miller is tied for 28th after the first round with an 87. According to the NSAA scoreboard, Johnson tees of at 11 am today and Miller tees off at 9:50 to start round 2.
