Broken Bow's Grayson Minnick spent most of the previous baseball season with a metal plate in his leg and a brace that restricted his motion. A snowboarding accident left him with a broken femur.
This season, he helped make sure he was part of the state tournament festivities.
After Broken Bow forced a deciding game in the district championship with rival Holdredge, Minnick came alive in the second and deciding game.

Just this past week, Penn State’s students and faculty alike watched as the empire that longtime football coach Joe Paterno and his staff spent decades building, crumble in front of their eyes in a matter of days.
What happened at Penn Sate and with long time assistant coach Jerry Sandusky has been well documented.
No punishment that any governing body could muster would do the victims justice, at least not deep down.
What happened in Happy Valley is unlike anything that has ever swept the college athletic landscape.

Broken Bow and Holdredge added another wild game to their rivalry Monday night as Holdredge prevailed over the Indians, 8-6 in a back-and-forth game that took eight innings.
Holdredge used tough pitching to keep Broken Bow off the scoreboard for most of the game. They held a 1-0 lead before they increased it to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 4th on a passed ball.
The Indians started to show some life offensively in the 6th inning with an RBI-single by left fielder Derek McCormick, who brought home Kirby Pomplun, cutting the score to 2-1 in the bottom of the 6th.
