Sandhills/Thedford picked up two more volleyball wins on Sept.11, beating Hyannis and Stapleton-McPherson County in the SMC triangular.
They started off by beating SMC 25-17 and 25-13. Madison Taylor lead the way with eight kills while Kelsey Higgins chipped in five along with Avery Taylor's five. Taylor Marten finished with three kills while Kaitlin Marten had two.
Kaitlin Marten did a solid job of setting up her teammates with 18 assists.
GOTHENBURG -- After Gothenburg's 21-20 triple-overtime victory last season, it was Broken Bow's turn to break the Swedes hearts on their home field. A late goal line stop by Grayson Minnick and and an interception by Jordan Lemburg helped Broken Bow seal a 15-14 victory to move to 2-0 on the season.
After a scoreless first quarter by both teams, the Indians opened the scoring in the second with a one-yard run by full back Jeremy Christner. Quarterback Marcus Miller then completedÂ a pass to Christner for a two point conversion to push the lead to 8-0.
