Broken Bow junior Tanner Johnson came into the state invite on a hot streak and the higher stakes didn't deter him. Johnson finished 4th overall today completing a todays round with a score of 76, five strokes lower than his first round. Sophomore Marcus Miller had a respectable finish as well, he tallied an 82 on the day. This was also five strokes lower than his first round. He finished tied for 27th. After the first round of play, Tanner Johnson sits tied for 10th overall with an 81. Marcus Miller is tied for 28th after the first round with an 87. According to the NSAA scoreboard, Johnson tees of at 11 am today and Miller tees off at 9:50 to start round 2.

The Twin Loup mens team finished 2nd overall for the Class D mens side. Ansley-Litchfield's women side took 4th overall. Twin Loup won state titles in the 4x400 meter relay and the long jump. Broken Bow High school fell two strokes short of qualifying for the state meet as a team, but Tanner Johnson and Marcus Miller qualified as individuals. The state golf tournament runs May 22 and 23 in Kearney.
There are some people in this world who understand that life has hurdles, they come in various forms. Some come in the form of physical objects on a rubber track that you must jump over to get to the next one. There are others that come in the form of some of life's greatest struggles.
Mullen junior Madison Tomlinson has done an excellent job of clearing the physical ones this season. She has greater aspirations to help others clear life's hurdles.
Broken Bow competed at the B-5 district track meet on Thursday. The womens team took 9th with three total points and the mens side took 7th with 20 total points. The Indians saw Cody Dierking and Tanner Briggs qualify for the state meet. Krisha Scott and Andrew Pracht are also possible qualifiers. Those updates will be provided when available.
