Ansley, Loup County and Sargent were back in action on Tuesday joining SEM at the Overton Invite. The Lady Warriors won the team title with Sargent and SEM finishing third and fourth. In the boys division, Sargent finished second by four points to team champion Axtell with SEM finishing third.

MINDEN -- The Broken Bow boys and girls traveled to Minden last Tuesday. The boys team finished fourth behind team champion Hastings Adam Central, Holdrege and Cozad.
Broken Bow’s Patrick Wright and Cody Dierking continue to lead the Indians in the distance races. Wright placed second in the 1600 meter run and third in the 3200 meter run while Dierking placed fourth in both events.

BURWELL - Many area teams returned to the asphalt oval after rain and snow postponed events that were scheduled last week. Among the meets that were postponed was the Burwell Invite which was moved to this past Monday. Five of the six area teams originally scheduled to participate braved cool, wet conditions with the home team Burwell sweeping the boys and girls team titles. In the boys division, Sargent finished second to Burwell followed by Ansley and Anselmo-Merna in third and fourth. Arcadia placed sixth with Loup County and Sandhills/Thedford tieing for seventh.

BASSETT -- The Sargent boys track team won the North Central Invite by the narrowest of margins. The Bulldogs scored 100 points to West Holt’s 99.5.
Jed Fenske led Sargent with gold medals in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Tyke Kozeal also won a gold medal in discus for the Bulldogs.
The Lady Bulldogs finished fourth in the team standings. Rebecca Davenport medaled in four events winning the gold medal in the triple jump.
Boys Team Results
WILCOX -- The Litchfield Trojans and SEM Mustangs traveled to Wilcox for the Axtell Track Invitational last Friday.
The Litchfield boys medaled in five events. Tyson Howard place fourth in the discus, Tyler Snow placed sixth in the 100 meter dash and Sam Reynolds placed sixth in the 200 meter dash. The Trojan boys also place third in the 4x800 meter relay and fifth in the 4x100 meter relay. Bridgette Janssen was the only Lady Trojan to place as she finished sixth in the girls 200 meter dash.
Megan Berg placed third in the discus and was the only medalist for the Mustangs.

BROKEN BOW -- The McCook Bison were dominant in both the boys and girls divisions of the Broken Bow Invite Friday. The McCook girls scored 155 points with Holdrege scoring 116 for second. The Lady Indians finished sixth with 41 points. The McCook boys scored 145.5 points with Gothenburg in second with 102. The Indians claimed fourth place with 78 points.
ARNOLD -- The South Loup Bobcats scored a team low 354 to win their home invitational Friday. Led by brothers Lane and Keith Gascoinge, the Bobcats had three golfers among the Top 10 individual leaders. Lane finished fourth with an 84, Keith was fifth with an 86 and Clint Schneringer shot an 89 for a seventh place tie.
Also landing in the Top 10 were Mullen’s Jarod Spurlin (89) and Tristen Cox (90).
Team Results
KEARNEY -- Broken Bow’s Tanner Johnson carded an even par 71 to win the Kearney High Invitational individual title. The Kearney Invite was held at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course last Thursday under windy and rainy conditions.
The Broken Bow golfers were in the first wave to tee off on the number 10 hole to start the day. Johnson chipped in on on the par 5 12th hole for an eagle which propelled him to two under par. Johnson’s bogey on number 14 dropped him to one under. After pars on the following four holes, Johnson finished with a one under 34 on the back nine.

ARNOLD -- The South Loup Bobcat boys track team won the first South Loup Track Invitational Friday. The Bobcats scored 110 points to edge second place Brady who tallied 94 points.
The Bobcats had five event champions winning the 4x100 meter relay and 1600 meter relay. Drew Bowers won the shot put, Brady Weinman won pole vault and Brandon Peterson had the winning time in the 3200 meter run. Earning second place medals for the Bobcats were Zane Ellis in the 100 meter dash and Colter Glendy in the 200 meter dash.
April 6th
LINCOLN -- The Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame Foundation will induct 13 athletes, five coaches, two contributors and two officials at its Sept. 25 induction ceremony at the Lied Center in Lincoln.
