Mullen's girls basketball team stayed undefeated with a 55-36 victory while Sandhills/Thedford's boys team picked up their third straight win with a 50-40 victory over Mullen. For more information, check out the next edition of the Custer County Chief.

Sandhills/Thedford got off to a fast start out of the holiday break as the boys team defeated South Loup 73-41 and the girls finished with a 58-29 victory. Sandhills/Thedford will take on Mullen tomorrow night in a matchup of two of the conference's best teams. For more information, see the next edition of the Custer County Chief.

The Broken Bow Elks Lodge is sponsoring the local Hoop Shoot Jan. 5. It will be held in the activities building for ages 8-13.
Age Groups:
8-9 year olds 8:30-9:00 am compete at 9 am
10-11 year olds 9:15- 9:45 am compete at 9:45 am
12-13 year olds 10:00-10:30 am compete at 10:30
Fast Facts:
-The Elks Lodge National Hoop Shoot is a free throw contest for youth ages 8-13.
-More than 2.5 million youth participate each year
-Beginning at local Elks Lodges, contestants advance through local, district, state, regional and national competitions

Anselmo-Merna Coyote Classic After-Prom Basketball Tournament
The A-M Coyote Classic After-Prom Basketball Tournament is scheduled for January 26th and 27th, 2013. Divisions will include 3rd & 4th graders, 5th & 6th graders, and 7th & 8th graders for both girls and boys. Entry deadline is January 12th, 2013 and will be limited to the first eight paid teams in each division. For more information, call (308) 643-2412.

Twin Loup's Alex Hart signed her letter of intent to play volleyball at Hastings College Wednesday afternoon. Hart plans to major in business administration with an emphasis on accounting while at Hastings. For more information check out the next edition of the Custer County Chief.

SMC earned a 47-38 victory over Twin Loup Dec. 14.
Alex Hart lead the way for Twin Loup offensively, scoring 21 points and finished with six rebounds. Becca Clark had five point along with five from Madison Kozeal, three from Monica Keith and two from Jackie Lewis. Keith finished the game with 10 rebounds.
Twin Loup out-rebounded SMC 34 25, but SMC made up for it at the foul line making 22-36 compared to 7-19 from for Twin Loup.
