Broken Bow Indian Volleyball scrimmage is Thursday, August 27th at 6:00 p.m. in the Broken Bow High School gymnasium.
Friday is the Broken Bow High School Football Scrimmage at 7 p.m.
Saturday the Demolition Derby will begin at 5 p.m. at the Custer County Fairgrounds.
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) â€” Five Nebraska players have been suspended for the September 5 opener against BYU for violating team rules.
Coach Mike Riley announced the suspensions after practice Thursday night. He said he wouldn't name the suspended players at this time but might by the week of the opener. He said "it will become obvious as the kickoff occurs."
Riley also announced that receiver Sam Burtch and cornerback Chris Jones had knee surgeries this week. No timetable is set for their returns. He also said running back Jordan Stevenson didn't practice because of a bad ankle.

Saturdays's Boys All Around Champion was Jt Bradley of Brewster. Maddee Doerr of Creighton was Girls All Around on Saturday. Boyd Sawyer of Thedford was Sunday's Boys All Around Champion. The Girls All Around Champion for Sunday was Brittni McCully of Mullen.
JT Bradley of Brewster won the saddle for the All Around Cowboy for the weekend and Jayde Atkins of Broken Bow won the saddle for the All Around Cowgirl.

Hoping to set themselves apart when playoff selection time comes around, Big Ten teams plan to play at least one nonconference game against a Power Five opponent and eliminate FCS schools from their schedules starting in 2016 when the league goes to a nine-game conference slate.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) â€” Nebraska sophomore guard Chandler Smith plans to transfer from the Husker women's basketball team.
Nebraska coach Connie Yori said in a statement released Tuesday that Smith, a 6-foot guard from Brewster, Washington, wanted to be closer to home.
Yori called Smith "a good person and a good player," adding she was disappointed in her decision but wished her the best.
Smith played in 18 games in her freshman season, with one start. She was hampered by a foot injury that limited her playing time early in the season.
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) â€” Scott Frost, who quarterbacked Nebraska to a share of the national championship in 1997, and four other former Cornhuskers will be inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame this fall.
Ex-Huskers Demorrio Williams, Josh Bullocks, Jeff Krecji and Harry Wilson also were announced as inductees Thursday.
Brook Berringer, a quarterback on the 1994 and '95 national championship teams, will receive an honorary posthumous induction into the hall.
