Dale Andersen, 86, passed away at his home in Kearney Tuesday, April 16, 2013, after a year and a halfâ€™s illness. Memorial services were Monday, April 22, 2013, at the O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with the Rev. Gary Main officiating. Interment will be in the Kearney Cemetery at a later time. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Seneca Cemetery, or the First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Patrick Joseph "Joe" Tully journeyed home to his maker Nov. 16, 2012. He now joins the love of his life - his wife Frances, and their son Gale.
Services were held at the Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Meridian, Idaho Dec. 7, 2012. Burial followed at Cloverdale Memorial Park.
An estimated crowd of 60-70 people gathered Thursday morning at the site of the new Cobblestone Hotel & Suites and Nebraska One Box Convention Center in Broken Bow. Brian Wogernese, co-founder and CEO of Cobblestone, and Jeremy Griesbach, Cobblestone Development, traveled from Michigan to take part in the event.
The new facility will be located on West Highway 2, just east of Trotter's truck stop, and is planned for opening in October 2013.

Just last week a team of four elementary teachers from Brazil visited Broken Bow as part of a Rotary International exchange program. It was the first time any of the four had visited the United States, and all said they were very impressed with our countryâ€™s educational system.
LINCOLN - A bill that would change the formula for state aid to schools pitted senators representing smaller, mostly rural school districts against those representing larger districts.
Lawmakers began debate Monday on LB 407, introduced by Sen. Kate Sullivan of Cedar Rapids.
The bill would slow the growth rate of state aid to schools to 6.3 percent for the upcoming school year, down from the current projected rate of 10.3 percent. The following year the growth rate would slow further to 5.1 percent.

Michele Stoltenberg, Postmaster of Sargent 68874, was awarded the Nebraska Branch of the National LEAGUE of Postmasters, Postmaster of the Year award Monday, April 15, at their annual state convention in Grand Island. She has been Postmaster in Sargent since July 23, 2005, when she was appointed to the position. Competition on the National level will be held in San Diego, Calif., July 21 â€“ 25, 2013, during the national convention.
Weather has caused more spring sports events to be cancelled. The Sutherland Track (Mullen, Anselmo-Merna) Invite has been cancelled for today. There will be no makeup date.
The Central Nebraska Track Classic at Grand Island Northwest has been moved to Wednesday with throwing events starting at 4 p.m.
The Broken Bow golf trip to Scottsbluff has been postponed to Tuesday May 7. The Broken Bow Golf Meet at Holdrege scheduled for tomorrow is also cancelled.
Also, The Sandhills/Thedford golf meet has been moved to Wednesday April 24 at Thedford starting at 10 am.
Rob and Patti (Krohn) Jensen of O'Neill, proudly announce the birth of a son, William Robert Jensen. He was born March 25, 2013 at 9:56 P.M. at Avera St. Anthony Hospital in O'Neill, weighing 8 pounds 7.5 ounces and measauring 20 inches in length. Proud grandparents are Ron and Nancee Krohn of Albion, Barb Jensen of Broken Bow, and John and Judy Jensen of Gothenburg.
Megan Riffey and Colby Howard happily announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Debra Reed of Oâ€™Neill and Andy Reed of Oâ€™Neill. She is a 2001 graduate of Elkhorn High School, and 2011 graduate of UNL. She is currently a student at Palmer School of Chiropractic.
