Bow goes green

June 21, 2012

It’s not easy being’ green’ nor is it cheap. One doesn’t jump into a green project just because it sounds like a good idea. There have to be incentives on the other end.

In 2007, Nebraska a new law created Production Tax Credits (PTC) for Community-Based energy Development or C-BED. State law allows for these incentives because of Nebraska’s unique situation as a public power state.

Westerville church closed

It was time they said. Their congregation was getting older and the upkeep becoming hard. It wasn’t a decision that came easy, many grew up between its walls, as did their children.

“There have been a lot of lasts this year,” said Denise Kaelin, “the last Christmas Eve service, the Last Lords Supper auction … We knew it was coming.”

Broken Bow overpowers Arcadia in win

June 21, 2012

Arcadia just couldn't catch a break.

Broken Bow's bats were too much to handle Wednesday night as the Spirit overpowered their foes, winning 19-9.

Third basemen Tressa Ripp had another fine offensive outing, tallying three singles and one doubles. She had plenty of help around here. Every batter finished with at least one hit and eight of the nine batters had at least one extra base hit.

"I think we had really good base-running and good hitting," shortstop Sydney Holcomb said. "Hannah and Jasmyn did really well on the mound too."
