UPDATE on the firing of Bo Pelini - WHO NEXT?

December 1, 2014

Who's next? Possible candidates for Nebraska job

When trying to figure out which direction a school might take with its next head coach, often it helps to assess the athletic director for tendencies.

At Nebraska, that won't work. Athletic director Shawn Eichorst has only been at Nebraska for two years after a stint as AD at Miami, where his biggest job was helping the school navigate an NCAA investigation.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The number of wins and losses didn't get Bo Pelini fired. It was the way some of those losses happened.

Pelini was dismissed as Nebraska's coach Sunday after a seven-year stint marked by an inability to restore the football team to national prominence and too many embarrassing defeats.

NET executive producer Joe Turco says the show offers viewers an amazing view of Nebraska, including rugged landscapes in the Panhandle, vast prairie and cropland and cities.

The footage was shot by a British aerial videography company called Skyworks.
