The Lady Warriors dominated throughout the entire match, showing their talents as they downed the Lady Knights in three straight sets, 25-16, 25-12 and 25-16. They are now 20-1.

Broken Bow sends team to state cross country tournament; A-M sends two runners

October 17, 2011

The Broken Bow Cross Country team is sending their boys team to the 2011 Nebraska Cross Country Championships in Kearney this Friday. Cody Dierking, Patrick Wright, Andrew Pracht, Evan Rose, Andrew Bailey and Grant Phillips will run for the Indians. The Lady Indians will be sending one runner as well. Freshman Shannon Myers qualified after finishing in the top-10. The Anselmo-Merna Cross Country team will send two runners. Libby Cramer and Blake Yarrington qualified after they both placed in the top-15.

MULLEN--The Lady Broncos were able to upend the Hawks in three sets, 25-22, 26-24 and 25-21.
Mikayla Daniels served for eight points in the first set and led all scorers with 10 points overall.
Rachel Hoesing served for seven points, five that came in the third and final set.
Clara Vinton served for six points, Jessica Lovitt and Amber Wright each recorded five points and Madison Tomlinson tallied four points.
Hoesing played the net well and recorded 16 kills and four ace blocks.

Loup County cruises past Arcadia

TAYLOR--Loup County used a 24-point third quarter and a powerful defense to upend Arcadia 48-6, the final match-up between the two schools.
Loup County and Sargent are co-opting football teams starting next fall.
With the co-op, the two schools are ending a rivalry that dates back to 1978.
The defenses for both teams dominated the first quarter, but Loup County started to find their offensive groove in the second quarter.
Brandon Barker took the delayed handoff and scooted for a 43-yard touchdown run.
The Wildcats added the two-point conversion and led 8-0.

A-M survives Mullen rally

MERNA--Anselmo-Merna used 28 first-half points and a late defensive stand to stymie Mullen 36-30.
The Coyotes quickly put points on the scoreboard.
A-M quarterback Joseph Christen scored on a three-yard plunge and A-M converted the two-point conversion to take an 8-0 lead.
After forcing Mullen to punt the Coyotes quickly found pay-dirt. It was Christen again, this time through the air, connecting with Jake Wells for a 52-yard touchdown pass.
A-M converted the two-point conversion before the Mullen found themselves down 16-0.
