Broken Bow volleyball beats Ravenna in straight sets, win streak at three

September 20, 2012

Broken Bow picked up its third straight victory Thursday night with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-15) win over Ravenna Thursday night. It was their second straight victory over Ravenna this week after downing them 2-1 in the previous matchup.

The Indians took control right away and didn't let up, particularly in the second set. Broken Bow jumped out to a 12-2 lead before siding out.

Playing together as a team and with unity has been a big key to the success as of late.

Put me in Coach: NFL would be fine without a kneel down.

September 20, 2012

This past Sunday, the Bucaneers and Giants made waves when first-year head coach of the Bucaneers Greg Schiano (formerly the coach at Rutgers) had his defense knock the offensive line back into Eli Manning when he was taking a knee, setting off the volcano that resides in Tom Coughlin's belly.

So they griped during the handshake and Coughlin sneered and Schiano stood his ground, saying that he was simply instructing his players to play until the final whistle.

Put Me In Coach: Get used to the awful officiating; It's not changing anytime soon

Remember when you were little and you went to all these birthday parties for your friends?

There was always that one kid that was so entertaining because he or she did stupid stuff simply because he didn't know any better. As many of you know, after awhile, the jokes just weren't funny anymore.

This fall, that so called kid is the entire body of the replacement NFL officials.

His longest was a 41-yard dash to the end zone that gave the Haymakers their first touchdown of the second half.
