Winter Sports Preview: Broken Bow Indians

INDIAN GRAPPLERS RETURN EIGHT FROM LAST YEAR'S WEIGHT CLASSES
BROKEN BOW -- The Broken Bow Indians return a good nucleus of wrestlers that will fill nearly all of the weight classes this season. The team is loaded with seniors and juniors that saw a significant amount of time on the mats last season.
The Indians return just one state qualifier from last year’s team. Matt Denson, at 130 pounds, has qualified for the state meet the past to years.

WILDCATS GET DEFENSIVE FOR WINNING SEASON
TAYLOR -- The Loup County Wildcats will count on defense as their strength as long as they can pressure the ball and take care of it when they have it.
With three returning starters from last year’s 3-16 team the Wildcats are optimistic that they can improve from last year and compete in the Loup Valley Conference and districts.

LADY WILDCATS CONFIDENT TO HAVE WINNING SEASON
TAYLOR -- The Loup County Lady Wildcats are confident that they will improve on last year’s 5-12 record.
The Lady Wildcats return three starters from last year’s team. Hannah Meeks, Shayna Dunbar and Haylee Jordan will be asked to step up into leadership roles.
To have a successful season, first year head coach Dan Helberg says that his team will need to focus on fundamentals and defense. If they can do this, he feels they should contenders in the district competition.

Winter Sports Preview: Litchfield Trojans

TROJANS AIM TO CONQUER LVC

LITCHFIELD -- The Litchfield Tojans will be aiming at the Loup Valley Conference Championship behind the strength of returning starters Adam Kucera, Danny Woolery and Tyson Howard.
Kucera, an all conference player, will be a dominant force under both backboards. Last year, Kucera averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds per game to lead the Trojans. Sophomore Tyson Howard also returns average double figures with 10 points ber game.

LADY TROJANS SET GOAL TO IMPROVE
LITCHFIELD -- Paul Polk begins his first year as the Litchfield Lady Trojans’ new head coach. Polk takes over a team that finished 5-16 last season.
Seniors Kelsey Unick and Tiana Stithem will be looked upon as leaders of senior and sophomore dominated team.
Last season, the Lady Trojans used multiple different starting line-ups and lost just one senior to graduation.
Seniors Megan Prunk, Bridgette Janssen and Hope Downer will also be asked to step up into leadership roles.

INDIAN HAVE EYES ON CONFERENCE TITLE
BROKEN BOW -- The Broken Bow Indians look to rebound after a disappointing campaign last season.
To do so, the Indians will have to find support for returning starters Nathan Scott and Marc Sleicher. Scott returns as the Indians leading scorer and rebounder and changes opponents shots with his shot blocking capabilities.

INDIANS LOOK TO REDEEM LAST YEAR'S WOES
BROKEN BOW -- The Broken Bow Lady Indians return four starters fro last year’s team that finished 4-16.
This year the Lady Indians look for redemption after last year’s disappointing season.
Coach Dave Pruden expects his group of sophomores, who got some valuable experience last year, to follow the leadership of his starters to build strong depth from the bench.
The key for the Lady Indians will be to fix the mental errors that hindered them last season.

Winter Sports Preview: Arcadia Huskies

HUSKIES RETURN ALL FIVE STARTERS, CHEMISTRY WILL BE KEY TO SUCCESS
ARCADIA -- The Arcadia Huskies will be fortunate to return all five starters from last year’s 4-17 team. That experience will help the Huskies compete in the Loup Valley Conference.
Head coach Bobby Hurlburt says that the toughest challenges for his team will be to develop productive depth off the bench and staying healthy.
