    Ten businesses celebrated ribbon cutting ceremonies in Broken Bow May 2, with Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman present for seven of those 10.
     
  • SWC track meet

    The Southwest Conference track meet was Saturday, April 26, in Gothenburg. The Broken Bow Lady Indians finished as conference runners-up, with the boys team finishing in 5th place overall in the meet. Results of the meet can be found on the Local Sports page on this site, and in the May 1 edition of the Custer County Chief.

    Burr Oak Church hosted a family BBQ and PBR event April 13. About 300 people were in attendance.
     
  • Stacy Marsh Benefit

    Mike Bailey, Pete Cunningham, Gail Reed and Destry Oxford, all of Ansley, conceded to having their heads shaved as part of a fundraising effort for their friend and fellow EMT, Stacy Marsh. The event took place March 8 at the Ansley Community Center, as the guys were shaved in front of an estimated crowd of nearly 200 people!
