7th inning rally propels Spirit past Loup City

June 28, 2012

Broken Bow's Tressa Ripp connects with a pitch during the Spirit's game against Loup City Wednesday night. Ripp had a key hit in a Broken Bow rally that ended in an 8-7 victory.

The Spirit had been in close games before during this season. None of them went as planned.

In their final game of the season at Tomahawk Park, a seventh-inning rally changed all that.

Broken Bow trailed 7-3 entering the final inning and then put their bats to work. Timely hitting by Tressa Ripp, Karly Boje and Jasmyn Brooks helped seal the 8-7 comeback victory for the Spirit.

The game ended on an RBI single from Brooks.

The Spirit's next game will be in the league tournament in Ord July 6-8.
