ALERT: BBPD investigates local scam

August 28, 2012

Broken Bow Police Department alerts Broken Bow and Custer County residents of a possible theft operation, involving a group of magazine salespersons going door-to-door in this area.
Chief Steve Scott said these salespersons are asking to come into the homes and use the restroom, then they are possibly going through the medicine cabinets to steal prescription drugs.
The Broken Bow Police Department had two complaints yesterday from residents reporting the above suspicious activity within Broken Bow and in Gothenburg.
Chief Scott said he wishes to make local citizens alert to this criminal activity so they can use caution when approached for door-to-door sales. He added that the suspects appear to be moving from town to town quickly but may still be in this area.
